Dyson DC45 Stick Vacuum - $298 @ The Good Guys & Harvey Norman

110

Sure, it's only $1 cheaper than JBs, but it's the cheapest on SI

Well, looks like HN have dropped their price to match

The V6 is probably a good choice for most, and you can add the Mini Motorhead for $55 as a spare part from Dyson if you need it (making it the same as the V6 Animal).
Was going cheap a couple of weeks ago @ ~$320 (with 20% off code) but I think cheapest now is HN @ $398.

      • Can this $55 mini motorhead be used on the DC45?

        • +1

          No slightly different connection shape.

        • The productrep is wrong. The Dyson DC44 and DC45 has its own mini motorised head. It is identical in voltage and watts to the one for the V6 range but only differs slightly on the connection. You can buy the mini motorised head for the DC45 separately via the Dyson website for the same price.

      • What is the purpose of the mini motorhead?

        • It is for tighter spaces, office chairs, the car, and mattress.

      The DC45 Vs DC44 animal:
-Identical machines, except the DC44 animal has the extra mini motorised head (20W).
-Standard mode: 28AW (20 minutes), Max mode: 68AW (8 minutes).
      -Floor motorheads are 20W.

The DC45 Vs V6 standard (not V6 animal, not V6 fluffy, not V6 motorhead, not V6 absolute):
-Same power on standard mode (28AW)
      -Same power on motorheads (20W)
-V6 standard (and V6 animal, V6 fluffy, V6 motorhead, V6 absolute) has 100AW of power on maximum mode (6 minutes), whilst the DC45 has 68AW of power on maximum mode (8 minutes).
-Both the DC45 and V6 standard (and V6 animal, V6 fluffy) give roughly 20 minutes of runtime on standard mode.

The V6 standard is the one that has been going for ~$319 via the goodguys ebay.

      The DC45 Vs V6 animal:
-Everything the same as the previous comparison except the V6 animal has an extra mini motorised head (20W) that both the V6 standard and DC45 does not come with.
You can purchase this extra mini motorised head for the DC45 and V6 standard via the Dyson website.

      The DC45 Vs V6 fluffly:
-Same as the first comparison, but
-The V6 fluffy has swapped the standard floor tool (the 20W one above) from the V6 standard and V6 animal, for a special hardfloor tool.
This tool is big and fluffly. I think the power on this V6 fluffy tool is 20W as well.
-Also comes with mini motorised head (20W).

      The DC45 Vs V6 motorhead:
-Same as the first comparison, but
-The V6 motorhead has swapped the standard floor tool (the 20W one above) from the V6 standard and V6 animal, for a more powerful tool.
This tool is officially called the 'motorhead'. This motorhead has increased power (35W) compared to the standard floor tool (the 20W one above) from the V6 standard and V6 animal.
-The V6 motorhead has reduced standard runtime (16 minutes) due to the more powerful motorhead (35W).
-Also comes with mini motorised head (20W).

      The DC45 Vs V6 absolute:
-Same as the first comparison, but
-Has all the accessories from V6 motorhead and V6 fluffy. That is, it has both the 35W 'motorhead' and the 20W fluffy tool.
-The V6 absolute has reduced standard runtime (16 minutes) due to the more powerful motorhead (35W).
-Also comes with mini motorised head (20W).
