  • Haven't bitten the bullet yet myself, still tossing up between this and the Tamron 18-200mm VC lens. The VC is meant to have brought some pretty impressive IQ improvements, and the lens can be bought new from DWI for $239 after cashrewards and their 5% sale on at the moment.

Not sure if the extra reach is worth the trade off in IQ, although the Tamron is still being very well reviewed.

  • +1

    It's good that they're giving a 1yr warranty with a refurb. In the USA it's 90days.

There's actually a few other good deals on there. I bought the 200-500mm a couple of days ago. The 70-200mm would come down to $2091.04 after discount and $300 cash back.

  • http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nikon-18-140MM-DX-F3-5-5-6G-VR-Zo… is $319 after discount if you want a new (not refurbished) model. This one has a two-year warranty. It is also sold by Ryda (NoFrills). I always get my stuff delivered the next day in Perth from these guys.

  • Wow, just watched this

Seems like AF noise is pretty bad on the Nikon, not great if you're keen on using it for video.

    • All the DSLRs have this problem, except for Canon with STM lenses. Those are purpose built for silent AF with video.

      • Interesting, but some have it worse than others for sure. Just not sure where this lens sits on the spectrum of af video noise

  • No VR??

    • Yes vr
