Or just get them for free from your local library, at least until SAI Global ends its existing arrangement with National and State Libraries Australasia

I've always wanted to own my own standards… Thanks…

    • well you keep them. no one else wants your standards

  • Hey - So weird you posted this. We were just joking about a coupon code for this at work lol.

However - I did discover that all universities have all of these available for free. You need to login through the uni portal or whatever. Works for ECU students which is how we got ours.

All you need to find is someone with a uni login and get them to print it off for you.

Good deal if you need a genuine copy

    • If anyone is going to do this and would like to keep the PDF, it would be a good idea to note that SAI Global has encrypted their PDF's to be valid for only 5 days. After which you need to redownload again, you can get this around by running the PDF through some sort of PDF unlocker.

      • Haven't used them for a while, but previously you just had to disable JavaScript or similar and the saved pdf didn't expire

      • Or…print to .XPS then…
Print that XPS to a PDF :)
The downside of this from memory is that the PDF is not searchable after that process.

The 'encryption' on international standards is pretty easy to get around.
I also found that even when the 'green screen' comes up after the 5 days you could still print out a hard copy.

        Good luck.

This may be useful as my mates tell me I have no standards….

Any recommendations? There are so many to choose from!

    • I would recommend AS3000 Wiring rules. Its a good read.

      • I used to be a NATA signatory for lifitng equipment a few years back. They should call AS4991 the 'grey' standard.
