I emailed ACCC about Kogan

It implies they may have been watching the ebay sale from a couple of weeks ago, right?

And for those unawares, Kogan upped their prices right as the 20% sale started.

Seems to be a worthwhile cost of doing business for Kogan and others. Penalties should be raised and that money should be paid to consumers who were decieved about the purchase they made.

    • This is true, but consumers still need to be aware of what they are buying. Just becuase it says 20% off doesn't make it a bargain.

  • Good man

  • Can you do Royal Caribbean next?

I love Royal Caribbean but their "sales" stink. There is ALWAYS a big sale on, it's ALWAYS ending in a few days, after which another big sale immediately starts, BUT the net price after discount never changes you never actually save anything.

Umm.. Welcome to every retail store in the world. All businesses constantly have fake sales now. It's not illegal.

      • +2

Not constant fake sales though. It is illegal if they have never sold at the price they claim you are saving from.

  • I'm sure they take email from watwatwat very seriously

  • Did you ask them to investigate, or ask if an investigation was currently being undertaken?

    • Our investigations are confidential, so we cannot tell you if we are investigating a particular business unless we have made an announcement about it.

They aren't going to tell you. They will publish it in the news probably.

      • I was asking with regards to watwatwat's initial letter.

  • good on you

    • Good on him

      • Good on me.
