whoa physical keyboard, i miss that thing, i hate typing on touchscreen, i must be old *grin

  • So tempted to buy!
But I'm traveling overseas on 4th July and doubt that it will be delivered by then :(
Can anyone comment as to how reliable their delivery estimation is?
    Thanks.

    • Don't think it would get to you by 4th of July. I'm thinking more like mid July.

  • tempted, specs looks good…..

  • A touch screen phone with a physical keyboard? That's awesome. Also, my usual question: will the camera on this be as good or any better than iPhone 5c?

      Better

  • Blackberry still around??? i thought there isn't much point using a Blackberry now that they don't use their proprietary network offering enhanced security so you can be a terrorist without the government listening in.

Blackberry phones are business phones, so there are still a substantial number of them out there, especially in Government.

Personally, for business purposes, I find it is a superior handset to any of the other major handsets out there, as it just makes things a lot easier.
As a personal phone, BB has previously suffered from lack of apps, but that's won't be the case with the Priv, as it is Android based.

  • can anyone confirm from previous deal that we can update while not on AT&T network?

  • Would this be cheaper to buy when I'm in USA next month? Or would it be not compatible with local networks?

  • If this could be rooted I'd jump on it in a second! I absolutely despise touch-screens, and have spent the last two weeks swearing at my new touch-screen mobile since my old HTC ChaCha (with a physical keyboard) started playing up. Unfortunately I bought an Alcatel which is difficult to root, so I can't easily install ad-blockers, DPI-adjusting or font-changing software which is required to actually make the phone usable. I can however root it and adjust those settings by flashing new firmware. From what I read the Blackberry Priv is impossible to root and re-flash, so it's not for me :(

For those who purchased this AT&T Priv, some good news if you weren't able to update it: If you purchased an unlocked AT&T Priv your updates will now come directly from BlackBerry
