    What's this product for ?

    • +6

      It makes broadbean soup black.

It fires IR beams to your IR device when/if it has WIFI connection, when/if your broadband is connected if you want remote access from away.

  • Is this the English version unit? Banggood claims on their website that the English version of Black Bean is exclusive to them (although the wording might be open to interpretation).

    • +2

I bought one from Everbuying and everything seems to be in English. They're not hard to use.

      • Do you need to have your phone to be in the same wifi with the device or it can operate thru Internet ?
Which mean you can still control the device from your phone even you are overseas ?

        • +1

          From one of the reviews:
          "Pros: γ€€
Works with air-conditioner and tv, app on smartfone over internet"

        • Haven't actually tried. I'll give it a go and let you know.

  • +3

    Damn…
I just bought it from the other deal 2 days ago …

    • +1

      Same here

  • +28

does the personal setting mode kill you. Thats what it looks in the pic - two oldies have karked it.

    • +16

but look how peaceful they looked. they died in love

    • +4

Must be compatible with Philip Nitschke's new App.

      • +1

        I think thats an in-app purchase :)

    • +9

It says in the manual that the device occasionally needs to harvest a soul to power its batteries. But that should be a once a year thing, twice tops.

  • +6

I still don't see any real wide range application of IR blasters at home except for the aircon.

But even with aircon, the IR blaster cannot know whether the aircon is actually on or off, it's a one-way communication because the aircon does not transmit IR signals back out.

What other applications are there? You'd have to buy IR-compatible everything. I don't need to turn on my TV when I'm not at home.

    • +6

It is more like an all in one feature so you can control multiple devices on your smart phone.

Think of this as an universal remote control but only better, because with this it is a universal remote control but you do not need to point to the device to control it. If you think universal remote is useful then you should think this is useful as well, likewise if you are never a fan of universal remote then you would find this useless to you too.

In regards to aircon, chuck another $50 indoor webcam pointed to the air con then problem solved. Cumbersome I know, but at least it gets the job done. Total cost to remotely turn on/off your aircon and monitoring it will then be ~$60-$70. Much cheaper than replacing the whole air con just to get WiFi feature.

    • +12

You underestimate how lazy people can be.

Left the aircon remote in the holder under the machine but you are already on the couch and don't want to get up to turn it on/off? No problem, pull your phone out of your pocket.
Left the TV remote on the kitchen bench just after you sat down in front of the TV to watch dinner? No problem, pull your phone out and change the channel.

Plus there's the whole thing of getting an IR universal remote with smart phone capability for ~$10AUD. Not everyone owns a phone with an IR blaster.

      • Have IR blaster on LG G4, damn, never even thought to use my phone to control it…..
I've always had to get up and use the controller on the wall under the air con unit.
I can't believe I never used this before.

        • +4

Neither can I. I am disappointed in you :P

        • There is one on xiaomi redmi 3 pro as well- it must be official ozbargain phone now since we seem to have at least one post about it for last couple of months.

        • Think of all the steps you could've saved. Now that energy can be used for improving the world

        • @Skimpywallet: ohhh, so the remote's in a holder, ohhh, who would have figured…

        • It's hilarious to use in public spaces where you don't feel like watching whatever they are showing. :)

        • Now I know why I haven't used it before.
I checked the IR blaster again and it only has
          Haier
          Hisense
          LG
          NEC options.

No Fujitsu or other brands listed.

I probably checked first time I got phone, Then just accepted I had to get up to adjust it.

      • +6

Or adjust the TV back onto the Fishing channel while the misses is watching soapies… She still hasn't figured that I'm not busy texting on my phone…

      • +4

well I'd say being able to turn the aircon on from bed in the morning, 5 mins before getting up is handy. The missus reckons being able to turn off the footy when she's in bed & I've passed out on the couch in the lounge on a Fri evening is also handy.

      • +1

        How do you watch dinner?

        • +1

          Hahaha lol

      • No problem, pull your phone out of your pocket.

Well I watch tv naked and the air con is always on. So this is as useless as tits on a bull

    • +1

I'd also like to know what people use this for.

I understand the air conditioning but is there anything else? Might come in handy to scare the other people in your house?

It'd be nice if they had economical IR power adapters that'd allow you to turn on older tech appliances too maybe?

      • +1

Are you planning to get a universal remote so you only need one remote instead of four?

If you are, then get this, because you can't get a decent universal remote for $10, and with this for $10 it is much much better than $80-$100 universal remotes.

      • I have to his and pretty much only use it for the aircon. Great to turn on the ac from bed and stay there until things have warmed up downstairs. At least I can here it starting up so I know it has worked.
The only other devices would be the TV and I usually have that remote anyway.

Does anyone know if this works over the internet? Never tried.

  • How do you use the EB points?

    • +1

They're applied automatically in the Payment and Shipping section.

      • Thanks! Managed to get it all working, now to see whether this gadget is going to be used or not.

        • That was the hardest part for me, I opted out of the purchase .. It's not useful to me.

  • Adding the coupon adds an extra $3.02 to the sub total..

No matter what I do I can't get the price down to what OP has. Lowest I can get is USD$11.12 without coupon or USD$14.08 with coupon…

    • Use a new account and reach until the Payment/Shipping checkout step, only then it will apply the EB points ($2 off).

      • I made a new account.

Nevermind, the UI for this website sucks balls the "plus" next to the coupon field gives you a "coupon list" which I was using for some unknown reason, that list has a 10% off coupon .. which apparently adds to the total cost so it's more like an "addcount" instead of discount.

User error, caused by a shitty UI.

        • Hmm my experience with gearbest also like that… Found some coupons but when i applied it actually increased the price.

  • Question: switching to mobile site saves 2% but misses out on the CR cashback, correct ?

    • Use CR mobile site, it opens up the EB mobile site and you get both 2% and Cashback tracked.

  • will this work for garage door openers?

    • +5

No, garage door openers use RF (radio frequency) not IR

      • thanks for the quick reply… that is disappointing though :(

    • +1

However you can get a bluetooth receiver kit to fit most garage door openers (will need another powerpoint). Then using iOS or Android you install an app which communicates with the bluetooth controller and opens your door. No more key required to get into the garage (unless you loose power), or the bluetooth device gets confused and you have to re-link.

      • Didn't know that - awesome!

  • +2

FYI, there is a android plugin to control broadlink devices via tasker (so no need for the dedicated app, and to make awesome macros of IR actions) however, this device isn't supported. I've been assisting the developer for a few months, and it's changed enough that he hasn't been able to integrate it. I've ended up buying one of the higher end, and better supported RM-Pro devices from broadlink, in order to do my home theatre automation.

    • Link please to the RM-Pro? Thanks.

    • Plus one for RM Plugin. I really like my RM2's controled via tasker.

      RM2 on aliexpress: http://www.aliexpress.com/af/rm2.html?ltype=wholesale&d=y&or…

    • Got excited for a bit cos the banggood link shared by OP does mention IFTTT integration. Only to read this further in the review comments.

      Good product
      By Damir 2016-05-15 14:22:17

Easy to set up, works with all of my devices. IR diodes are very strong and devices don't have to be on line of sight. Only one remark, device still don't have IFTTT chanel and in description is writen that it have IFTTT Link
      Banggood Reply:
Hi dear friend, it is not that IFTTT protocol in all device,
all broadlink products are have broadlink IFTTT themselve, it can link with each other, if you have an S1C center.
Thank you for your concern :)

    • Could the RM Pro 2 control devices in the next room? For example, I'll put it in the cinema room to control home theater (hopefully lights soon)
But I also want it to control the lounge room TV when we decide to watch movies from HTPC

Also could link the Tasker plugin for the RM Pro 2? This is the only reason why I would get it! Thank you!

On the other hand, I'm hoping there is something else out there that blasts RF as well as IR for my rolling ShuTTERS! That would be awesome!

What's the sudden obsession with emoticons in the past week or so?

    • -2

      Just embrace it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    • +6

      I think it looks πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©πŸ’©

  • hmmm i can't seem to add more than 1 coupon

  • +2

I'll take 1. Not sure what to does. Thanks

  • Im not able to find the EB points on the Payment and Shipping page (but can see them when i go into my account)

    This is what i see:

    Items Sub-total USD$ 18.46
    Coupon - USD$ 8.66
    Mobile Discounts - USD$ 0.20
    Shipping Sub-total + USD$ 0.00
    Shipping Insurance + USD$ 0.00
    Wallet - USD$ 0.00
    The amount payable: USD$9.60

    • Me too

    • Have you signed up a 'new account'? http://user.everbuying.net/m-users-a-sign.htm
OR If you have bought on Everbuying before, you may also have EB points when clicking "proceed to checkout".

      • It shows 100 eb points in my account. How to use them?

        • +1

OK worked it out - if you choose paypal checkout it dosnt work. You choose manual checkout, enter your details then it takes the EB points, reduces the price and you have the option then of paypal again.

      • Yes I created a new account via FB
I have 20 points on the account for creating the account and verifying my email address

    • +1

It's automatically deducted after the shipping page. Don't select PayPal at the start, just move through the full payment/address process etc. PayPal will come afterwards. Need a new account as stated already.

    • I ended up just creating another account and worked.

      Cheers guys

  • anyone able to point me to a list of supported devices?
In the other threads people have mentioned buying, but no being able to see their devices listed on the app. (the app won't let you see the list of devices, until you setup the IRblaster)

  • Im not sure I like having to sign up for a new account to get the advertised bargain price. Reward for effort ratio is not good… Would prefer to see this as a sub note saying all new everbuying accounts (often?) get a discount like they do in the case of "CASH REWARDS" etc…

  • Do you need the original remote for it to work? I lost my amplifier remote and would love to use this to control it.

    • No the app has a list of devices to setup. The proble, is I can't find out what is on the lst of supported devices.

      • Wait, so there's a predefined list of devices that are compatible with the Controller and anything outside of that list will not work?

        Isn't this important to know?

        • Yeah it was mentioned in one of the other deals (by someone who'd bought one to control their air cond, but their unit wasn't supported).

If they made the list available, then excellent, but there doesn't appear to be such a list available.

  • Nice one, love that feeling of a bargain… No process too hard, too long….. Must get bargain

  • +1

    Bought one. Thanks OP.
Website was charging me AUD 10.17 but paypal charge me 10.64( due to the conversation rate).

  • +1

Anyone know how it works with 2? Do they both show up in the app?

  • +2

Thanks….Bought one, pretty sure I don't need it, but I got buzz from getting it so cheap…..that's the main thing.

  • +1

Thanks. Just ordered it for USD 7.40. Hope it arrives early. :)

  • +1

I actually managed to get the price down to USD$7.40, which is a monumental saving & improvement over this outrageous "$7.60" nonsense…

So as a hugely imperative addendum to OP's list of procedural steps to ensuring the absolute lowest price possible - I'll provide that an additional 10 "EB points" are rewarded for verifying one's email address (which can be done by visiting your 'buyer profile'/account page (whatever the heck you may wish to call it - it's accessible by clicking the round 'πŸ’‚' icon in the top-right corner of the mobile site.)

Once there click the appropriate button to confirm/verify email. The site will email you a "code" in the form of a long array of alphanumeric characters, furthermore it will grant you 60 seconds (complete with a live countdown timer! cool!) to report back to this page with the code it just sent you.

Once appropriately confirmed via email, you are now of a reputable and highly distinguished "Verified Buyer" status (tattooed here in a monumental italic crimson font so you never forget it), along with that you are now the lucky recipient of a measly additional 10 EB points, which in effect will put you ahead of the wave of poor souls paying an unfathomable 20 cents more than they might’ve.

^Apologies for the use of an emoji to constitute the makeup of an instruction - i merely had to to refrain from soliciting a description amounting to "click on the head & shoulders icon", which I imagine might’ve had many people subsequently looking for an iconic shampoo bottle

  • Has anyone received their order in the mail yet? Didn't realize Everbuying's delivery was so slow/sh*t..

    • +1

      Received it today.

  • +2

Got mine 2 days ago. Ordered on 29th June

  • I also ordered mine on the 29 June (in the evening) but mine still hasn't arrived. I'm in Melbourne. Is anyone else still waiting?

  • Mine arrived a week ago and it's so awesome. I set up my tv and aircon in my apartment. The range is amazing and I love how I can control my ac remotely.
Fun turning off the tv when kids are watching and I'm out of the house

  • Is the one from Everbuying the rm3 newest version ?

    • There support ticket response was that they cannot guarantee the version, which probably means that it isn't the latest.
