Misleading title, because the first line of the description also appears in the main page view, leading people to believe that you get $50 back by spending $70.

      Admin updated the title. :)

  • Can we use the credit from the last deal like this?

  • Tricksy (for those who may not be aware):

Previously earned Store Credits can be used in this promotion to complete the purchase. The eligible store credit for this promotion will be calculated on the total spend minus any store credit applied to this transaction.

eg After buying the Hisense TV the other day, I have $200 credit to spend. I can use it but if I spend $270 they will only recognise $70 towards the promotion so will just get $10 back. Ah well. Frankly I'm struggling to find something I actually need….

    • How did you find the Hisense TV?

      • +3

Hard to miss - 58 inches so the box was pretty big… ;-)

Sorry. Dad joke. The tv is amazing for the price (in particular given the $200 voucher, although even though it's back to $995 - well $995 plus a $50 voucher - I think it would be great value). Have a more expensive TCL - although that has a 3D screen for what it's worth - and although I'm happy with that frankly I think the Hisense screen looks a little better. The TCL appears to be less plastic, but I think contrast on the Hisense is better, as well as the user interface.

        • Thanks - have you used the media player? Specs say it plays x265 codec which is good for 4K and was wondering if you tried that. Also does it recognise ex-fat or ntfs for media as the manual has those columns marked as no.

        • @Punkboy:

Sorry, no. Did put a small portable hard drive (that I formatted to Fat32) on the thing to enable the ability to 'pause' free to air tv, but otherwise haven't tried anything else. Did fire up the Plex app (as I have a central Plex server, and it seemed to time out for some reason. Haven't had a chance to give it another go yet, but if I can I'll see if it does the above…. Again, personally I don't have a huge interest in the built in 'smart' functions of a tv generally as I prefer to use an external device (eg Chromecast/Apple TV) - consistent interface, frequent updates, etc.

        • @PlasticSpaceman:
Thanks again. Yeah usually I'm in the same boat and use external sources however in this instance was interested in next gen play back as most of my devices aren't great or don't support x265 playback. Found some 4K files and was curious if they might actually work. Cheers

        • @Punkboy:

I'd be surprised if they didn't work. I downloaded a few myself way back when I got the TCL and the image quality was amazing. Then after the initial play factor dried up, I stuck with my existing 1080p content (which also looks better with the upscaling)

  • No miele :(

  • These store credit deals really suck if you don't have a set of products that you know you need. And the lag in receiving the store credit also makes it less useful and really only for the retailer to get feet through the door again.

    • Soda stream refills?

      • I plan to use the $25 voucher to get soda stream refills cheap.
I have two cylinders and only thing I can see me using often.
