Was short on Red for the weekend, and couldn't be arsed to go to Dan's, so this deal to get a case delivered to work on the Friday before the weekend was as timely as they come. Thanks OP.

And for those wondering, no need to enter a coupon, you can just choose next day delivery at shipping options.

Cheers OP, note not free for country orders.

Didn't give me the option for next day delivery :(

        I am now!

    • Me neither, in Perth south. Boohoo ;-)
Still if Toll deliver, it's fast as. Austpost delivers sometimes at their discretion.

      • Where in Perth? I placed an order earlier. I know it's coming by Toll because they rang me and said they couldn't deliver to my Parcel Collect address, I had to give a physical street address. Last time First Choice had a free shipping promo it came via AusPost so it wasn't a problem (that was Std delivery I think).

        • It's odd Parcel Collect isn't acccepted by couriers yet. Austpost has your real home details and a record of delivery is kept. Fastways knocked back a supercheap order which surprised me. Near kwinana/rocko.

        • @eotwawki: Yeah, I'm close to there as well in Wellard. They must have something against us! I ordered anyway with standard delivery so we'll see how it goes.

        • @eotwawki:

The reason the couriers won't deliver to parcel collect addresses is because they have no agreement with Australia Post to handle the parcels, meaning auspost wouldn't make any money from having to handle a 3rd party package. I'm sure they could form some kind of agreement if they wanted to but I guess the cost has got to be passed down the chain back to the customer at the end of the day.

Interesting, if you put your post code in here does it show you as metro or regional? https://www.firstchoiceliquor.com.au/Ordering/Delivery

        • @bonezAU:
Rockingham6168 and Baldivis6171 are not part of perth metro as far as I know, but both are metro on 1stchoice. Kwinana6167 is metro in realworld. Mandurah6210 is regional in both but I thought worth checking.

Thanks for explaining about chincee Austpost. Makes sense.

I had this furore all day today the systems a bit poop.. Where if you add eg 12 different wines and ones not available then next day delivery will not show.. Only it doesn't tell you which wine it is that is unavailable.. So have been adding and removing different wines til next day delivery was available.

    Good luck!

    • Toll are packing and shipping this stuff straight from a warehouse, it's not being picked up from a First Choice retail store already packed. So I guess whatever is available in your state's main distribution centre(s) is what will reflect as availabile online.

Looking at the scotch prices and they're certainly making up for the free delivery in the cost of the booze, the prices are terrible!!

    • Glenlivet founders at 45 is good with free del

      • +2

Yeah but reviews are pretty terrible compared to the old 12 year old

  • can anyone get this $10 off to work ? https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/252726

    • Not working for me :(

  • Got 6 of those hidden gems(literally what they are called) for 2.85 per bottle. Cheaper than bottled water at this price. Cheap hangover eh?

  • Good deal. Just an FYI - the Pepperjack Shiraz is one of the items which will prevent free next day delivery in Sydney. Hopefully that helps somebody avoid the painful remove + re-add of every item in their cart trying to find the problem.

  • These aren't bad with the 6 for 26 bucks offer

Expiry date has been extended to 22/7/16/ Midnight. Free delivery is for Metro and includes regional cities such as Geelong, Newcastle and Wollongong. You can check on the first choice website to confirm if you are in a Metro or Regional delivery area.

  • Had to remove my positive vote. I have a safe, out of sight area at the front of my house - and I selected the "leave at front door if I'm not home option". Toll have just listed that they didn't deliver because I wasn't home. Now they'll have my delivery at a much less convenient location than my local FirstChoice and of course I won't have it when it was promised.

I won't be using this service again - even for a free service I feel like they owe me.

    • Sounds more like an issue with Toll, not First Choice (unless FC didn't pass on your request to leave it at the door).
Ask Toll to re-schedule the delivery as you specified it should have been left and see what they say…

      • I get what you're saying, but my agreement is with First Choice for my delivery to be left at my door today. That they contracted an incompetent company doesn't stop this from being their issue.

It may be different for others (and no reflection on you posting the deal because it definitely looked like a deal) - but for me, this is not worth it.

        • Yeah fair call. Have you spoken to FC about it then? I'm not affiliated with them at all, just a customer… but have not had any issues with delivery in the past. If you speak to them nicely they might offer you a resolution, you never know.

        • I had to email, as their website and phone number both reported "technical problems", which probably relates to this deal and extra work (whether that's complaints like mine or just queries I can't know). I'm not hopeful, but if they do manage a good resolution I'll report it back.

  • Does Toll still deliver if it's after 5pm? I received a message earlier in the day which said the package would be delivered today, but it's after 5 and the tracking status is still 'Out For Delivery'.

    • Yeh same still waiting

      • My delivery arrived about 20 minutes ago so yes they are. At least in my area, Sydney.

        • Yup, mine just arrived 20 mins ago too. One bottle short, and with a case of beer that has obviously been sitting in water for quite some time as the bottom is like tissue paper. Not impressed. FC customer service is closed for the weekend so will have to gripe at them on Monday.

          @solar:
Sitting in water to keep it cooooool ;)

      • I called Toll to see what was going on. There was a lot of umming and erring, and then the guy just hung up on me. Amazing service!

  • Still waiting ~.~ next day delivery hmmmz..

  • Got a phone call today (Monday) to say they didn't deliver it because I was home. As I work and am not going to be at home, their best option is to deliver it to a store much further away than my local store. Their claim is that in the ACT they cannot leave it without a signature. Definitely not worth the hassle.
