Telstra Makes It's Broadband Usage Meter Work Again

Got a letter today from Telstra stating that the broadband usage meter that allows users to check their data usage is working again.

This of course means that Telstra services are no longer officially "unmetered" and that plans are back to what you signed up for rather than Telstra pretending they had a usage meter when you signed up and then hoping customers didn't realise they could just download and upload whatever amount of data they wanted. Yes Australia's largest and most expensive ISP really has been that hopeless. :D

New COO, days later the usage meter starts working after 2 years - who knows: they might even have continuous working service soon! :p

I don't think the usage meter was broken for everyone, it hasn't been broken for me anyway. I've been getting my usage counted normally for at least the past 3 months.

    • Shh, you're ruining another one of OPs rants about Telstra

I'm still waiting for gum mints from the new COO.

        • I was waiting for the complementary back rub, and I'm not even a customer.

          Shame Telstra!
How could you do this to me!

  • Starts working again after 2 years? Mine stopped just before Easter this year and started working again last week; about 4 months.

  • Still down for me, but might start working again at the start of the next period.
    Bummer!

    • Same. Still down for both mine & my parents' Telstra cable since around Easter.
