    • yes, unless u get the element b stuff for frying

It's NOT made in China if that helps

      • These steel pans are made in China, but so what?

Oven Safe: Up to 260 degrees Celsius

          Must be a typo.

          Scanpan is made in Denmark

          HA! wrong!

          HA! I'm only human!

        • @easternculture:

just seemed like a good excuse for an IT Crowd quote to be honest

        • @easternculture:

Only their top-line stuff is made in Denmark now, mainly their higher end non-stick stuff.

          Everything else from China.

    • Scanpan is known for their high-quality ceramic non-stick cookware surface.(and for trash-TV sponsorship)

These are stainless-steel pans, and $99 is about the same as you'd pay at Ikea etc for similar products.
The $315 RRP is a joke.

Official website for "Scanpan Impact" just says "Danish design" .

      • I bought a pot in IKEA used it once to make tea leaf egg and the inside bottom is already peeling. Waste of $29 ever!

        • +1

You are talking about their non-stick pans. We are comparing stainless steel. The Ikea 365 range is very good.

        • @manic:

Next time I will get ceramic pans and stainless pots.

        • @manic: Mine was a stainless steel Ikea pot!

        • @Turd:

          The steel was peeling?!

        • @manic: yyep…. Tried washing it off and it's not the stuff I cooked it in coz it was black. I'll take a pic when Im home if I remember.

    • Scanpan specialise in pots/pans. Bought some for my sister 2 years ago she has been VERY happy with them. They were coated though but id expect the same great product.

      • or about the same considering shipping!?

  • Off topic but anyone know of a good pressure cooker?

    • Kuhn rikon Swiss made is the best but tefal and the like are also good, trick is you need athuck bottom so food doesn't stick as you can't stir once it's up to pressure

      • you need athuck bottom

You are from New Zealand, right?

I got a Scanpan frypan, looks similar to this one here, when I fried egg with oil, the egg stick to the pan. Did anyone have the same issue?

    • No

    • Hi cooking newbie,
to fry an egg, use a cheap Teflon pan. Best to keep that pan only for eggs.

Google for how to use a stainless pan for other things.

      • Ya, have been using teflon to fry egg after that. I seldom use the scanpan because it is really heavy vs the teflon.

I decided to buy 3 decent saucepans about over 2 years ago. They are Scanpans and I cant recommend them enough. They look 'as new' after nearly 3 years.
The Mrs told her sister that I was replacing the shite pans we had, forgetting that her sister had originally bought us them.

  • Do you know when the offer end?

    • Today according to their website.
