Excellent. BoomCo Halo pistol for just under $9 (inc. free del.)
    Thanks TRENT86.

  • Thanks Trent, looking for a new headset so this is perfect!

For anyone with headset knowledge; I'm tossing up between the Turtle Beach variants: XO one ($59), XO Four ($80), Recon 50X ($50). Which would you reccommend? TIA

        • They look like a good option however the lack of boom mic is concerning. Waiting to find out if they are now included in the box or still need to request one from Polk..

      • +1

        XO Four

      • HyperX cloud 2

        • Thanks for the reply! The hyperx cloud 2s look amazing; however are double the price, I guess you get what you pay for. Are they xbone compatible? (I'm assuming yes with the adapter)

        • +2

I would look at the hyperx cloud cores they are the exact same headphone just without the usb soundcard and a couple of small extras, $59 from msy really comfy headphones. But otherwise I would look at the polk 4 shot I think they come with the boom mic and adapter so your all set at decent price.

        • @hcetigol: you champion, hyperx cloud core's are going to be my new headset. thanks!

        • Here is a review from an Aussie: https://youtu.be/KRNmV6z-yPI

  • Just a heads up everyone! I bought the Halo Pistol last night and CashRewards had tracked 8%

  • Maybe change title to Xbone? Seems to be nothing for 360.

    • The XL1, X12 Are Xbox 360 headsets

      • are these compatible with ps4?

        • You might have to check the Turtlebeach website for that info

  • Anyone know how the TX racing wheel compares to the Logitech G920?

    • +2

Both are good. People will squabble over subtle differences that aren't going to make or break the experience.

However, there is one important reason why I own the G920…

      • Has a clutch.

Got my G920 + gear shifter for 370 at JB about 6 months ago, and a Playseat Challenge from UK on eBay for 320 delivered. Foldable (with wheel and pedals attached), comfortable, well made. Good set up overall, space friendly, and on a budget. Would recommend.

      • Thanks mate. I do like the idea of having a clutch so that may be the way to go. Have you had any issues with yours? JB have it (soon) for $399 with F1 2016.

        • +1

No problems so far. A few users over on Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/simracing/comments/2tdjul/thrustmas…) mentioned that the TX have had issues, and one customer in JB took sheer delight in telling me right before I got the G920 that I was making a mistake and that 'he had returned his'. Read into those individual opinions what you will. My own two cents is that I and three friends have had the G27 before with PS3/Gran Turismo and they all took a pounding for many years. I personally find the G920 VERY similar to the G27. In fact the base unit with helical gear, pedals, and the overall grip and feel are almost exactly the same. When you look at them side by side you'll find it's pretty much only the front fascia that is significantly different. So, I give my thumbs up to the Logitech. But each to their own and my opinion isn't the only one!

          @Unotifoso:

Still have a G27, that's set to maximum feedback on GT6. It get so much usage in a GT6 session you know it's time to take a break when you smell the gears!!

Runs like a champ, would have to be 5 years old now?

Will upgrade to once GT7 is out and PS4's drop in price, seeing as I'll need console, game and wheel.

        • @Unotifoso:

Thanks for the informative reply mate. Think I'll give the G920 a go! $399 with the F1 game isn't too bad of a price.

      • My G27 is still rock solid, 4 years later.

Can highly recommend a load cell brake mod for a much more realistic experience. I have the APElectrix (http://www.apelectrix.com/) and it's great. But there are a few out there.

Not sure how it'd go with the XBoner though as you'll typically need to invert the axis after install.

        • The G920 has a brake pedal modification over the g27 for 'better feel'. Actually it's the one and only thing I really noticed that was a little odd when I got mine set up; it took a few hours to wear in the brake pedal. I don't remember the g27 needing that.

I have a g920 and the one main difference is the TX is belt driven.

Old mate has done a bit of a review here: http://forums.forzamotorsport.net/turn10_postst51952_Thrustm…

      • Thanks mate, will have a read over it now.

    • +1

I went G920 due to the clutch and cheap shifter addition. It's a great wheel which is well built. The thrustmaster was too expensive at the time plus to get the additional pedals, shifter, etc. would send it well over $1,000. Both excellent wheels though.

  • Must.. resist.. buying halo needler…

  • Does anyone know if I Can connect two Thrustmaster Ferrari 458 Spider Racing Wheel ($99) to the xbone at the same time?

    • No but for what it's worth, I don't think the current crop of games I've got (forza 6, horizon 2, f1 2015) have split screen anymore? … I might be wrong

      • Forza 6 has it, don't know the others, but you need to do some races, that we'll unblock 'free play' and with that you get access to split screen, yeah I know a bit convoluted .. still finding my way around that box

        • Oh yes sorry it does, my bad.

    • +1

The Spider doesn't I don't believe. The Italia does ($300 vs $100 though). Maybe there's a way to make it work not sure.

  • Do any of the Turtle Beach headsets include the adapter?

    • +1

According to the reviews the XO one comes with an adapter with the usual chat/sound mixer, master volume control and a bass boost button.

  • Thanks OP bought the XO one headset, there are some good reviews around and that's the cheapest price in Australia.
