Seagate Barracude or Western Digital 2TB for $159.95 Pickup Avail

490

As link says, postage makes it not so good a deal but if you live nearby it works out well.
If this is a bad deal I think u can just click the plus sign twice, not the minus sign and it will probably give me a negative..
not sure.

  • Why are these places never in my state :( good deal!

  • $10 postage is pretty good.

    • Not for me. They wanted $16.63 for a total of $176.58

Cheaper to pickup at local MSY for $166.

      • +1

Yes but MSY = WAIT 40mins to be served, whist the person in front askes for the sales person's advice on what the difference between a 1.5TB hdd and 2TB hdd. THEN finally getting to the counter only to be told that the person in front of you bought the last 2TB HDD.

MSY = WASTE OF TIME AND FULL OF FAIL!

Always call or order before going there. Then no waiting in lines or being disappointed.

Or you could go into any empty pc store and pay higher.

@sublemon: Calling?? LOL if only they would answer their phones!!

            • @Turd: Totally agree. Exactly how it is in Ultimo, Sydney anyway. Email- 4 days to respond. Waste of time. The Parking Police are scrit in Ultimo so I put $5 in the meter. Wait 1hour and 4 minutes and they say, "We don;t have stock".

        • That may be true of some MSYs, but for the Gold Coast one I just walked in - there wasn't a line. I was in and out in 5 minutes.

wow ive been looking for a 2tb drive for ages, was going to give in this weekend and get it at MSY for $166, but for $6 less pickup at Mwave its worked out better, now i can afford a happy meal after picking up this baby.

    • lmao happy meal FTW

Great price, the same price as I paid for my 1.5 Tb about 6 months ago. Hopefully they'll have 10 Tb for $50 in 5 years.

    • problem is many computers cant read over 2.1 TBs, (1. 32 OS bit limitation) there are some bigger ones coming out, but they still need to get over the limitation.

      1. Even if you do have a 64bit OS, you won't be able to use a 3TB HDD as a boot drive unless you have a GUID partition table (GPT) which is currently limited to UEFI capable motherboards. UEFI has been knocking around for ages, but widespread support is still some way off.
  • +1 for WD. Good price if you can pick up but postage to SA kill this deal for me. :(

  • MWave been pulling a lot of good deals lately.

    • Trying to win back customers after their warranty debacle.

      • What happened here? Are they shocking with warranties?

          • @Davo1111: If it is necessary to return faulty goods to the place of purchase, the ACCC considers it reasonable for the seller to pay appropriate freight costs.

WOW!!! i did not know that! thats fantastic!

man i dont know how many times ive been stung with that!

            • @wisc: "the ACCC considers it reasonable…"
              But is it legally enforceable?

Is there a specific legal requirement for the merchant to pay freight for returns? Both ways? One way?

  • Ah ic, so its just a publicity stunt.

  • Mwave = Best IT Online retailer hands down…. they are really churning out great deals lately. Goodbye MSY, Mwave actually answer their phones.

  • Price just went up to $169 for both WD and Seagate. Damn. I was just about to order one.
