I received this offer from Lenovo this afternoon for ThinkPad Yoga 460. Use coupon code YOGAOFFER to get 45% off (RRP $1,749) to $968 delivered.

  • Part No. 20EMCTO1WW
  • Core i5-6200U
  • Windows 10 Home
  • 14" Full HD (1920x1080) 10-point touch screen
  • 4GB DDR3 (1x DIMM)
  • Finger Print Reader
  • 500GB+8GB Hybrid Hard Drive
  • 1.8kg

First of all, TA's deal from 2 months ago was better (more RAM, HDD & cheaper). However when I asked about it, Lenovo said it's the best pricing they can do at the moment.

Secondly, being a ThinkPad the memory and internal storage can be easily replaced. Just remove the back panel to replace/upgrade user-serviceable parts. Do note however that Yoga 460 only has one DIMM slot, but can take up to 16GB of DDR3 RAM.

Edit: also got told that Cashrewards is having 8% cashback for Lenovo at the moment.

  • RAM is worse than previous deal.

  • I got this the last it was on sale and upgraded the following on my own:

    1) Crucial 16GB Single DDR3L 1600 MT/s (PC3L-12800) SODIMM Memory CT204864BF160B
    2) Samsung 850 EVO 500GB SSD

If you'll be doing the same, the lower capacity HDD and RAM should not matter too much. Anyway, I'm very happy with it.

The RAM was from Amazon, US and went for AUD 232.46 delivered (now listed USD 179 before shipping). I still don't understand why it's this expensive when the 8Gb version is just USD 34 and the 16Gb DDR4 is just USD 64. Someone care to shed some light on this?

    • Crucial 16GB Single DDR3L from Amazon, now need AUD $247 or more.

I do not understand why it is expensive either, and I think it is unfair.

I was researching for a 2-in-1 Laptop and suffering from anxiety of whether to take HP Spectre x360, Surface Book, Dell and Lenovo…and about to make up my mind and this deal cut everthing else out of the picture! I love you OP

  • Thanks OP. Just pulled the trigger after a few days of research.

  • Can this be used in conjunction with the education store?

  • My cash rewards for this was declined? Will appeal but has anyone experienced this before?

    • It's probably because they haven't listed this particular promo (YOGAOFFER) on their website.

      According to https://www.cashrewards.com.au/lenovo

      "Special Terms

      Important:

Purchases made with coupon codes not advertised on Cashrewards may result in cashback not being paid."

      • I believe this code was on CR. Can anyone else please confirm?

I know my original cashback pending was higher than I had expected so perhaps that is why it was declined. Have submitted a claim. Fingers crossed. I probably would have shopped in JB HIFI if not for CR.
