Thanks for the note - fixed up now.

  • FYI, only 8pm Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday shows left, and one 8pm show on Friday 2nd Aug.

That's correct. Naturally the weekends sell well so this offer is mostly for midweek performances. Great price for such a quality production.

  • Going to see this at the end of the month, hope it's good!

  • I always get a bit suspicious when there's an asterisk behind the price but there's nothing saying what it means. Can you clarify or remove?

      • Thanks. Just bought three and price shown turns out to be the actual price, no additional charge.

  • Let us know when the Melbourne ones are at a reasonable price.

  • Thanks, bought three. Great price.

  • What's the parking like ?

    • We went to the premiere last night and EQ car park was fine. it was $7 flat rate after 6pm.

      • Prices indicate $25 for events. Are you sure it's $7 ?

I think event days are considered more one-off events like big concerts or events in the EQ precinct. They can't enforce event days for a long running show like Cirque du Soleil otherwise every other person coming to see a movie at Hoyts will be slugged with $25 parking. Last night was definitely $7. They actually have the event days listed on that link you posted.

  • Thanks OP for the post. Secured 4 tickets for the only Fri available. Cheers

  • Thanks bought 2!

  • Grrrr is there anyway to select your own seats ? Planning to book for 3 but not happy with the pre-allocated spot!

No, but keep trying until you find something suitable. You have 9 minutes to make up your mind.

Open several browsers/tabs and keep trying ;)

  • Any deals for the Brisbane show?

As someone who went to Kooza last night (Sydney):

With a large venue performance, seating is normally pretty important with regards to perspective and stage proximity. However, the Grand Chapiteau that Cirque du Soleil is using in Australia is only 51 metres across, meaning centre stage is only ever a maximum of 25 metres from even the furthest seats.

While we were front and centre (third row back), it almost felt a little too close at times, particularly with a lot of aerial performances, and almost would've preferred to have been seated further back (on top of which, the audience members they drag up on stage for the clowning routines are normally taken from near the stage).

While it's probably desirable to have a centre-ish position for full effect, I'm not sure the price differences can be fully justified.

Good deal this, but even after it ends am pretty sure anyone getting seats near the inner edges of level 4 (brown section on the website) wouldn't be too disappointed.

And yeah, brilliant show, highly recommended.

TL;DR: Only a smallish 51m diameter tent so the cheap seats are fine.

Thanks dd22qq - Couldn't have said it better ourselves! Thanks for the fantastic comment.

    • Thanks for the comment.

How long was the whole show ? Was it over 3 hours ?

      • +1

Show began at the scheduled start time, went for 1 hour before 20 mins intermission, then a further hour. So, 2 hrs 20 mins total, including intermission.

There's clowning stuff going on pre-show as well so if you have children it may be worth getting there a bit early.

  • Thanks OP! Excellent price.

Will Aladdin be featuring anytime soon?

    • +1

Not at this stage. If you look closely at some of the mid week performances over the next few weeks there are some special price tickets that have been release for the matinee and evening performances. Just have to look towards the back of the stalls and dress circle. :)

  • Can I still get the deal?
Been trying for the last hour…
Clicking BUY button brings a blank screen with a gray bar and DHL logo…
And terms and conditions in the bottom.
    :(

    • the same here..thought the sale has been sold out :(

  • @lasttix: are you getting any more tickets in soon?
