Kinder Surprise 20g Egg $0.50 @ The Reject Shop Mentone VIC

120

Best before was 13/8/16 on them but it still tasted fine. Not sure if they are available for this price at any other store, the ones that weren't over the use by were $2.

1 kg of surprises for $25 sounds like a bargain to me.

…can you find a better price on surpises per kg?

    • $25/kg for chocolate is one thing but this is a kinder surprise, parents may find it valued

        • @BargainQuail:

          Free with a Happy meal

@jv: I would't call that free it's part of the package. This is a much cheaper way of obtaining toys anyway. How much is a happy meal these days?

I would't call that free it's part of the package.

We often get one for free, even without a happy meal. Just ask…

        • @jv: you still have to buy some highly processed greasy junk food though ;)

        • @franco cozzo:

  • are they allow to sell anything pass best before date?

    • +1

I think it depends on what it is and what terminology is used. On the eggs it says best before and not expiry date. Processed stuff like this I think is fine, selling meat or dairy over the expiry probably isn't okay.

    • +2

best before and use by dates are quite different - best before means the product may be past it's best, but is not unsafe to eat, use by means the manufacturer thinks the product would no longer be ok past that date (obviously they err on the side of caution)

    • you talking about McDonalds?

    • Poor new south Welshmen, haven't seen a nqr before lol
