Worth it. Two fantastic games there!

Lol that's harsh! I liked invisible war and the fall wasn't bad considering it was really a mobile game.

  • Great price.

  • Anyone think its essential to play all the games to know what's going on? I have Human Revolution in my backlog and was intending to start on that.

    • +4

They did a 15 min rundown of what's happening in human revolution at the start of mankind divided. But HR is a great game nonetheless.

      • Thanks - so many people I've spoken to over the years have recommended it and have been meaning to play it. I'm a good while off before i'll even get around to the new game at this rate.

        • Be prepared for very dated graphics and physics.

        • @Diji1: Are you talking about HR? I think the graphics is very nice. Saw the comparison video of MD in Low/Mid/High/Ultra settings, even in Ultra, MD's graphics doesn't appear hugely better than HR.

        • @edfoo: Naw the first one …

        • @Diji1: There's a couple mods out there that make the first one look a lot better.

        • @cmdbash: Cool!

    • I recommend you play Human revolution before MD. Chronologically, the first Deus Ex and I.V. come afterwards

    • Don't worry about playing Deus Ex 1 or 2. They're interesting in the context of gaming history but the gameplay is pretty awkward by modern standards. Plus Human Revolution is a prequel, and Mankind Divided continues directly from it.

    • I might as well ask here regarding Human Revolution… I think I have both the Director's cut and first release in my Steam library. Should I play the first release at all or can I just dive straight into the Director's cut? I'm just worried if I'd lose out or miss anything.

      • Should just jump into the director's cut; improved boss battles, fits the dlc into the story, removes the yellow filter over the game and has an option for developer commentary when you play through the game. However it does have a few more bugs than the original version as the director's cut was based off an earlier version of the game (I've played through DC and haven't really found anything wrong with it).

        • thanks, mate! Much obliged!

Excuse me for being ignorant but with all of these great consoles who plays PC games anymore, gone are the days of the Commodore 64.

    • Oh, don't worry, you just keep being ignorant. It takes all sorts…

People who don't want to play games at 900p or 720p in xbox ones case.

lol consoles - Get some real graphics.

      Whose taking the bait?

    • PC is only the world's largest non-mobile gaming platfrom so you're right, PC is pretty much dead these days.

That said it's still larger than both the Wii U, Xbox and Playstation platforms by a considerable margin so you're right, everything is dead except mobile gaming.

    • People who care about having more than three pixels and one frame per minute.

  • Anyone know if they have mac versions?

    • Yes they do but not as a bundle like this AFAIK. But for $6 DE:HR is a good place to start

    • +2

Anything you activate on Steam gets activated on both Mac and PC when available. In this case, Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut is the only one that will play on Mac via Steam. I just bought this bundle, it works, now I have that game on my Mac.

      • Handy information. From recollection the original Deus Ex was also released for Mac. No real loss if Invisible War wasn't.

        • +1

I have a boxed copy of the Mac version. It ran on OS 9 and PowerPC chip. You won't be able to play it unless you buy an old Mac.

You're better off running Steam under Bootcamp.

    • You can just run Steam in Bootcamp you know.

  • +4

    i never asked for this.

  • Individual keys or a single one?

    • +2

      Single.

      • Thanks for that mate. Already have Human Revolution and was hoping to give that and The Fall to my bro.

  • +1

Irrespective of the graphics of any of the games, they all have fantastic music and atmosphere. The world is just a good place to be in.

Although there are plenty of graphics detail mods for the first game.

Please, only play on Realistic difficulty (it's not realistic, you are just quite a bit squishier)

    • Please, only play on Realistic difficulty

Why does it matter to you?

      • They're concerned that the end user may miss out on experiencing the game with it's intended purposes?

        • -1

Intended purpose? Lol, okay internet elitist tough guy. The intended purpose is to have an experience with the game, not just the one experience you deem worthwhile.

        • @ProspectiveDarkness:

It's just a suggestion, no need to take everything so seriously.

  • +1

Well a play through of Deus Ex is quite an undertaking - may as well go for (what I feel) is the optimum experience. Doesn't really matter to me at all, one can do what one would like as I'm sure one would anyway. The danger of a one-or-two-shot death takes the whole augmented-stealth perspective up to quite a tense and immersive level. Breezing through on other difficulty levels diminishes the world and game design somewhat, in my opinion.

  • I've played the original and HR and they are both excellent. Although the original is probably dated in terms of graphics, the story and gameplay are still terrific.

  • +6

I still regard the first deus ex as one of the best games ever. The story is fantastic and gameplay was great for its time. Yes the graphics are dated but seriously do yourself a favour and give it a go

  • Deus Ex - Directors cut is $5 usd on Amazon if you have a US account. Key is activated through steam
