Good post bro. Mate 8 grey import cheaper by $90 (if anyone is interested) @ QD eBay. Mate 8 beast of a phone, price should go down in December as Mate 9 is coming out.

I would rather pay $90 extra for Local Australian Stock and warranty and peace of mind.

  • any other android phones in the same price bracket that I should consider?

      Nexus 6P

Mate 7 is Dual Sim Dual Active, come with Two Transceivers, and are capable of receiving calls on both SIM cards

      • Notably, unlike most phones it's not limited to 2G on one of the sims.

A lot of dual-sim phones will become single-sim December 1st when the 2G network is shut down.

        • do you mean we can put 2 x 3G simcard at the same time, or both can accept 3G but only one 3G can be active (the other one 4G or sdcard)

        • As will this phone..

Both sims in this phone may be 3G/4G capable but not at the same time.. There are very few Dual 3g/4g phones available atm.. Big thread on whirlpool for those interested

Eg. My Zenfone 2 is Dual Sim Dual Active but will be useless come December

        • @Megahowler:

          As will this phone..

Well that's balls. I thought that was the selling point.

    how about mate 8? same?

Mate 8 is Single Sim (Australian Model)

  • Ozbargainers, Isn't Redmi Note 3 (3GB RAM, 32GB storage version) better value at $250 (or less)?

    • +1

This phone uses a 6 inch screen, with a great screen to body ratio, and it also local stock with 2 year warranty. I guess it comes down to what you want. Value is pretty much a subjective thing. Hence why some deals people love, and others that some think are a great deal for them aren't as popular on here.

  • I bought mate8 and it's a good phone. Much better than my previous LG G4 which had bootloop after a couple months.
Camera is not as good as P9 but it's not bad either. Battery life is probably one of the best with fast charging technology.
