  • Curious, is this a type-C USB or is it just a normal mini USB? If the latter, that seems interesting….

    • +3

Reversible micro usb cable, not type-c :)

      • I didn't know such a thing existed. Not sure how since the plug is not symmetrical horizontally.

      • Thanks guys! I'll bite.

      • +25

It's not a mini USB, it's a micro USB. mini USB and micro USB are 2 different connections.

      • +6

2 upvotes for incorrect information. Classic OzBargain.

      • There still is a reason for USB-C (actually many) but the most obvious is it supports USB 3.0, not just USB 2.0

    • +5

It's not a mini USB, it's a micro USB. mini USB and micro USB are 2 different connections.

      • lol yeah i always get them confused

  • +3

is there any longer one? like 1.5m? as long as it is reversible, any brand would be okay

    • +6

We will bring some new micro cables with different length soon

      • +2

3m and 5m as well would be good

      • +3

        minimum 2m please

      • 25m would be lovely

        • LOL 25m… that'd be a little too long for most people.

        • +1

@ProjectZero: but that's not what she said 😋

        • @hopper: sniff Sorry I'm only (getting the) 1m T_T

  • Showing as US$4.99 and getting error "product not in sell status"

    • +1

The discounted total shows on the right side, under the payment method.

  • Does it support quick charge?

    • Fast Charging: Supports 5V/9V/12V fast charging at up to 2.1A current, compatible with Qualcomm QC3.0, Qualcomm QC2.0, MTK Pump Express Plus and other fast charging technology.

It does say that on the page, but unsure… probably?

    • Yes it does. I have a few of this cable and I have seen it charge at 2a @ 5v and 9v and 1.5a @ 12v.

  • +1

There's also pure black and pure white ones that seem to be at that price already.

    Not braided though.

    • Thanks! Any advantage to have a braided one? Never had braided before.

      • +2

They tangle much less easily and they look/feel like a premium product.

I always prefer braided for any cord unless it's a headphone cord because it can create a sort of resonance noise when something physically touches it with some headphones.

But other than that braided is goooood.

  • Grabbed 3. Can't wait! That's all.

  • +4

Hi Op, any deals on Blitzwolf 1m Lightning cables?

  • Mmmm, braided cord :D

  • +5

    Anything 2m?

    • -1

Longer cables also mean longer charge times due to resistance and voltage drops …..I keep short for quickk charge and long for using device in bedcif itcwas flat and needs charging though less than optimal.

    • Could u please drop me a private message?

    • +2

Same, I got a refund and was told a new model would be available.
Is this the redesigned model, rep?

      • Zets from looking at the picture it does look diffrent to the one i recently got mine had metal on both ends and arrives a week or 2 ago

        • +2

I think the rep needs to go on record and answer this one.

        • Does yours look like this?

          http://imgur.com/a/YcwYk

The metal jacket slides forward when I apply pressure.

          This happens at both ends.

        • @Zetsubou: yes it is

        • @Zetsubou: did you get that lint remover thing from Daiso..?

        • @Orpheus: Ikea :)

    • I've had mine for ~4 months, and the same thing happened to mine. The plastic slides off over the metal, probably just a weak glue. Ended up losing the plastic part on the USB-A side but still use it regardless

Any deals on some decent lightning cables?

  • +12

I can't recommend these. One side charges at about 10% rate of the other side and the plug fit is not secure, it unplugs at the slightest angle.

    Avoid.

EDIT: More info. Owned for a few months, purchased from BG. Was fine for the first month or so but now is used as little as possible.

    • Was going to question the lifespan of such a device, thanks for confirming my suspicions.. The inside of the micro USB end just looks entirely too fragile!

    • +1

I had one of these from Aliexpress and had a similar experience. It worked great for the first few months but stopped working after that.

    • +2

      +1. Can't recommend them.
I have 3 of the non-braided BlitzWolf version turn up the other day from Banggood.
They are all annoying to plug in - like you have to get exactly the right angle without breaking it, or it doesn't plug in at all.
Tested in Galaxy S5 mini, Nexus 7 and Galaxy S4.

Unfortunately, I totally forgot about ordering the above 3 and have another 3 braided ones on the way.

  • This used to charge a samesung s6 ?

    • Incompatible Devices:
Parts of devices have tested and confirmed incompatible with double-sided cable.
      Samsung S6 and S6 edge, BlackBerry 9900, Moto Nexus 6, HTC M8, Gionee Life S5.1(Kazam tornado 348)

      I guess not

      • It might explain why eBay listing have a model list rather than works with any micro USB socket.

I have some on the way will be interesting testing.

  • cat resistant?

  • Says the warehouse cannot ship to my location (Australia)

  • As others have said, I would be interested if there was a longer (2m) version available.

Also, is this the redesigned version?

  • Any chance of a sale on some BlitzWolf type-c cables?

  • Awesome, been waiting for a deal on these :)

  • +1

Is it me or do most microusbs cables just last about 3 months. Just had a cable I got with the xiomi battery bank die on me a few days ago.

  • So this will charge my S7? Connection looks different

  • bought 3 thanks OP!

  • +12

I have bought about 5 of these blitzwolf cables over a 4 month period until I realised what was going on:

I have had TWO phone connections become damaged due to the reversable microusb fitting being too tight.

They worked for the first 6-12 weeks, then I started noticing that I needed to apply pressure to one side of the cable to get it charging. Then it stopped fast charging. Now one phone socket does not work completely (Samsung S6 Edge) and it only works via wireless charging, and the other phone I need to use official samsung cable for it to download photos/data.

Buyer beware. Microusb wasnt designed for this and its a shoehorned solution.

    • +2

I've heard of the same thing happen to someone who had one. I'll give it a miss, not worth the risk

    • That's bad luck. I do have one cable dead after using for 9 month, but not the device.

    • thanks for the heads up. Would have bought one otherwise.

  • Ordered two red and a grey one :)

Using them for Bluetooth speakers only not phones where I can see from above can damage.

  • +1

Found these braided 2m lightning cables for AU $7.99

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2M-Apple-MFI-Certified-Lightning-…

  • Reversible equals non-compliant wrong shape that will damage ports. No thanks.

  • +3

These are some of the worst cables around. Absolutely rubbish . Like many have said the ends come off very very easily without much force . Their mfi lightning cables are just as bad.

    • +1

Have the same problem in some device when I first received the cable last year. Later I realized you have to give it a push and will hear a "click" sound indicating that the cable is attached.

      • +1

How much force is that push?
I stop applying force when it get's to the point of potential socket damage - a cable should not need that much force.

It's not worth damaging a socket for the luxury of being able to plug in a device in the dark.
Especially since I can do that first attempt already 50% of the time.

        • Hard to describe, but it is not strong. It's like two step thing. Plug in and push a little bit and it will stay connected firmly.

  • I treat cables gently as I like to save money…..anyone get an email saying their powerbank order was delayed or canceled by bang good?

  • +1

I concur with the negative reviews…

It's unnerving just how much force the micro-USB end on these cables takes to be seated properly.

I'm not risking my phones/tablets over some convenience I'm well used to not having by now anyway (micro-USB was never meant to be reversible).

    • Got mine in the mail yesterday and I see what you mean, I don't think I'll be using these too much…

  • Does this code work for anyone? It gives me an error message, "the coupon has been used".

  • Received it today. Thanks.
