      10% off doesn't stack

      • Yea my bad. 10% is full priced item only

  • If you can't get it delivered, try changing to a different seller. Carolinas didn't work for me, but World Class Inc did

  • Any deal on the pebble time round

  • After screen tearing issues on the first pebble you'd want to know they've got their shit sorted on that issue.

I had the same problem on the first Pebble, they replaced it no problems. I just had to show the photo of the problem and serial at the back, didn't ask for a receipt for date of purchase. Also, I bought mine here in Oz, and got the replacement while I was in the US, they didn't even want the old one back. So their warranty process was really straight forward.

I was so impressed with their service, I bought the pebble time straight after. It was a significant upgrade on the original and the Time OS has been improved so much since its release that every major update is like getting a new watch each time. The software support is great in that regard.

      • Thanks. Sent them the details so see how we go.

      • No luck - out of warranty. Looks like I'll be opening it up and stuffing some tissue in there.

        • sorry to hear mate. Try in the US when you get the chance? ;p

        • @assailantsky: All good thanks assail. I don't think much of the pebbles anyway.

I had the pebble time before and sold it a few weeks later. Heres my very brief review:
    - The color of the bezel is very* sensitive, a light bump into some corner can cause scuff marks on the bezel. You can invest on the bezel wraper to solve this problem.
    - Notifications sometime delays, or doesnt show at all.
    - Screen is not bright enough especially when using in door
    - It is light and comfortable
    - Selective notification is only available for andriod
    - Great battery life

    • Good observations, but just a couple of points to clear up.

Notification delays are usually software related. I've not had any issues with mine for a while, running Pebble Time Steel and iOS 9.

Also, selective notifications has been available on iOS for a while now.

      • So is the screen hard to see indoors? wouldnt it be harder to see outdoors in the sun?
I have an original pebble and have no issues with seeing screen.
Im thinking of trying this (would prefer the time steel but too pricey).
Is the microphone handy at all or just gimiky?

        • +2

It's e-ink technology, so the brighter it is outside, the more the screen reflects and the better the legibility.

In dark environments, it would be impossible to see the e-ink display, but thankfully there is a backlight. So no complaints re: legibility, none at all.

Microphone is useless in Australia. Nothing supports it.

    • Sounds like an Android issue.

  • I got the 10%!off a peddle round , paid $210 but still waiting for it to arrive, tracking said arrived in Australia on 18th September

  • Can someone let me know why one would upgrade from a classic to a time? There's no feature that I could think of that mattered was pebble fit (or whatever it's called) support, but I can't work out why that support can't be built into the classic also?

    • Basically the original pebble is not supported with new functions - they ran out of space.

Personally I'm waiting for sale deals on the new pebbles, or preferably a pebble time round 2.

      • Ok so that's the reason they don't support pebble fit or whatever it's called. You would think we would have the option to run less apps and be able to choose to upgrade but I guess not. Having said that I can't seem to get it to work just right as a fitness tracker with either of Google fit nor Jawbone Up apps which people kn here say are supported

  • Anyone here with real use case scenarios and experiences with this? Little brother wants a smart watch but I have no exp in these things. Reviews seem contradictory and I have no baseline so it's hard to tell. Looking to pair it with Android, don't care about iThings. Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers

    • I can tell you the original pebble is great. Im contemplating this as an upgrade.

    • If youkke the look of it get it now. Everything works fine and us a good watch. I use both pebble and Android wear.

      • Microphone is useless in Australia. Nothing supports it.

So if the mic is useless it's really no better than the classic from a functioning point of view?

        • It's got steps and sleeping alarms and colour and more advanced watch faces. Had the original pebble too.

        • +1

The time has much more functions than the classic as it supports the latest OS upgrades and functions, plus it looks better to the eye imo. The e-ink colour is definitely an upgrade over the old b&w. It is also less chunky on the arm, and easier to fit under your sleeve.

Mic is not completely useless, you can reply to sms txts using voice. Voice accuracy is usable and handy if you are driving etc. Atm, You can't reply using voice on other apps such as whatsapps/wechat/messenger etc. But I hope software upgrades down the line would fix this.

To be honest, I think it is the best watch out for my needs, I don't want to interact with my watch as much as I want information from it without looking at my phone. In this regard, it does so well, and very discretely. The battery life is also a huge plus for me.

        • @assailantsky:

          Thanks for that.
Can you take notes or set reminders with the mic?
Im waiting for a replacement watch band I purchased off ebay for my Pebble classic.
At the moment Im using a Garmin Forerunner at the moment but it doesnt hold a connenction to my phone as well as the pebble although as an activity tracker it is way better plus it has OHR.
