Essentially piggybacking off the earlier expired deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/268789

Currently $500 off without code
"AOCT5" is 5% off "full" priced laptops but this currently works on discounted laptops on the website as well. Don't know if it would have worked on the Surfacebook TA deal but kicking myself that I missed out on testing it.

Also obligatory 1% Cashrewards as well

CAVEATS:

  • Be mindful of the coil whine but Microsoft may be a bit better than dell at taking returns/after purchase care.
  • The QHD prob is a battery hog
  • Also Kaby Lake (ie 7th gen chips) Dell XPS13 (9360) have already been released and are being sold on Dell website.

Initial review seems disappointing. http://www.notebookcheck.net/Dell-XPS-13-9360-QHD-i5-7200U-N…
Only good part seems the battery life. But this is a $500 discount at the least

Coupon expires 31/10/16. Unsure of the laptop itself

  • Personally, I'd be hesitant to pay a premium for a QHD resolution on a 13 inch display running Windows. My recommendation would be for a Dell XPS for $1299 with FHD (same cpu, ram, ssd). https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/268830

  • I have the top of the range I7 with the qhd screen and its amazing!! the sceen is better than my gaming desktop lol. I only got it because staff price was crazy cheap :) but battery life is terrible im lucky if i get 6 hours with the screen on low.

    • +1

Lol @ that being terrible. A few years ago, 6 hours FHD was great. A few years before that, it was unheard of without a secondary slice battery. A few years before that, it was impossible.

      • I think its bad as they advertise up to 12hours but thats marketing

        • What price where you able to get on a staff discount, curious what price i could get with a jb staff discount.

        • @flylin: under $1750 from $2499

  • Too expensive

  • I didn't know the QHD+ screen was available with i5. I thought it had to be i7.

  • RAM doesn't seem to be upgradeable :(

I use a similar model at work, and I find 8GB to be just enough to work though RAM utilization sits around 90% most of the time (I'm a developer).
