LEGO Technic 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 $354 Shipped @ John Lewis

1140

So I found this the other night while looking for a VW campervan (which is $139.50)
Hope those that missed out on the Target deal that are still up will make the most of this.
Porsche is $348 and $18 dollars shipping. The price is actually better today, I paid $351 for it 5 days ago.

Mod 11/10: Available again and $12 cheaper, $337 + $17 shipping = $354
(Thanks grazer)

      • Excellent condition. Happy days

    • Shipping is free for orders over $150 IIRC

  • +2

Thanks… switch currency to GBP.. and should be around $350 deliveried using the 28 degrees card.. via Paypal.

Just bought two for 409 pounds delivered…

Bargain.. should be around $685 for the pair of them…

  • There's no way they have this much stock.
I'll wait for the cancellation emails to pour in

  • I'd talked myself out of this for a couple of months, but can't resist @ <370.

Thanks. Fingers crossed it gets sent.

  • Just got my shipment email an hour ago :)
    Ordered yesterday morning

    • Can I ask what time did you order yesterday? I placed the order around 8am, however havent got any email yet.

      • 7.39am

        • I should receive the email soon then, thanks for your info, cheers

        • @rartelif:

I ordered at 7pm last night. I got a tracking number at 5:40am. Not bad 👍🏻

          @YellowDieselGolf:

Arrived in regional Australia today. Pretty flippin impressive.

I should add that the outer box had a ding in the corner but the display box was undamaged.

        • @YellowDieselGolf: Here's hoping everyone who ordered actually gets an outer box! That's atleast two of you so far, it's looking hopefull

  • I ordered at about 9am yesterday. Just got a email now 10:47am next day it is on the way!

  • This is definitely one of the very rare occasions on ozbargain that a super popular item has not yet been ozbargained (not even intermittently)!!

    • It's because it's almost $400 - which will burn a massive hole in my wallet.

      • +1

From experience, other popular Lego items (pricier than this) have gone out of stock within a few hours.. It's quite incredible that John Lewis has a stockpile of this 'hard to find' set.

        • +1

They had about 500-600 somehow. Insane

        • @cyrax83: Tell me about it!!

  • Few more good deals shipped ($20 included)
    http://au.johnlewis.com/lego-technic-mercedes-benz-arocs-324… ~$237
almost same as the recent THEHUT deal
    http://au.johnlewis.com/lego-technic-42054-claas-xerion-5000… ~$177

It is a great price if they have stock on fire station and cargo train, it was half price compared to lego Au store.

    Thanks OP

  • Just got my shipment, to my dismay, it is not the Porsche. Just the VW camper I ordered. Hopefully they ship the Porsche in another box.

Hopefully it is not bad news as they still haven't shipped it for a week….

To those that received shipping confirmations, did you also order something else as well? or did you just order the Porsche?

    • Just the 2 Porches, fingers crossed!

    • How was the packaging?

      • +3

Horrible. Thin cardboard box that was dented and punctured. Emailed a complaint about it last night

        • Ouch. Looks like damaged Porsches incoming :O

        • Damn that's not a good sign, please keep up updated if you get a reply.. Sounds like we're all likely to be in this situation

        • Hope everyone paid with PayPal. Atleast some help there if it arrives damaged

        • Received my pet shop today. Same as yours, so I wrote a complaint Email. Not sure what they would offer me. They are simply stupid as the poor delivery will cause refund or compensation.

        • +1

          @Infraction:

Well i did get a reply. Fairly quick as well.

We have received your email regarding the missing Lego Technic Porsche, and the damage to your Lego Creator Camper Van.
At John Lewis we always aim to deliver the highest quality goods and services and we are sorry that on this occasion, there was damage to the Camper Van and the Technic Porsche was missing.
I would now like to tell you, that you can return the Lego Creator Camper Van to us and we can send you out a return or refund. Please let us know, which you would like us to do.
In addition, I would inform you that the Lego Technic Porsche's delivery has failed and that I have therefore raised your query to our International team, who should get back to you on the whereabouts of your product within 2 working days.

    • That's a real bummer. Hopefully you get good news soon. How was the VW packaged and sent? Arrived as expected?

    • What courier did they use? Auspost/Toll/Startrack?
      Thanks

    • +1

Same scenario for me. Second lego model arrived, but not the Porsche. I questioned the courier and he didn't have a second parcel. Hopefully it will turn up tomorrow.

  • +3

Hi, I received my Porsche today from John Lewis. Ordered on Thursday 9am, delivered 4 days later! Local delivery to Melbourne was by Toll.

    I only ordered the Porsche.

Packaged in original brown cardboard lego shipping box. Haven't opened the glossy inner box, but everything looks fantastic. No dents or cuts.

    • Fantastic to hear they are coming in the original Lego shipping box! Can I ask what your actual shipping ETA was?

      • +2

Sorry, I don't know if I ever saw an ETA. Timeline was:
Thu 9:45 AM Thank you for your order email
Fri 5:40 AM You order has been displatched email (with DPD tracking link)
Mon 8:32 AM Your item has landed in Australia email (with Toll tracking)
        Mon 11:00ish AM delivery accepted

        • Click on the DPD tracking, it would have said "Your estimated delivery date is X"

Just curious if yours was expedited lol

        • +1

@cyrax83: Clicking that link has: Your estimated delivery date is Monday 17 October 2016

So, it looks like it came a week early. :-)

Total payable was 366.00 AUD ($348 + $18 for "Delivery: International delivery, provided by JL International Ltd")

        • +1

          @grazer:
          Winning

        • @grazer:

Lucky U, received my pet shop today. The box was crushed and all the seals were gone. It just looks like been opened. Not sure if the parts were missing. They just wraped the Lego item with a plastic bag, thats all.

        • +1

          @rartelif:

Maybe because they had 600 odd fresh Porsche would have been direct from Lego and kept in original box as they probably sold them as soon as they got them. Well that's what I'm hoping…

Perhaps the rest of the stuff were unpacked and put in their lame thin cardboard packaging…

        • @rartelif:

          Did customs open it?

        • @cyrax83: Hopefully I will get that. I ordered a Porsche and a VW campvan as well. I wrote the complaint letter request for discount, see if they can do something.

This company is stupid enough as they did not pack all items from one order but sent seperately which would cost more shipping. Also their terrible package would make them more troubles as surely they would received lots of refund in the next a few days, once they receive the return, they will hardly to sell them in original price due to the damage. I am not sure how they run their business, but if I am the manager, for the international shipping, I would either do it better or never do it.

        • @cyrax83: No, the plactic wrap was sealed, however maybe due to poor handling and package, the box is squeezed hardly which caused the seals come off. but I suspect that the box was a return item in the shop and was opened before, but no evidence.

    • Sweet, there's hope!

  • Hope everyone receives theirs in good condition.
Keep us updated on how yours arrived
I should be receive my 2 Porsches in the next few days.

  • +3

    Back in stock!!!!!

    • And cheaper now! AUD337 + shipping.

      • If GBP drops another 10% def should consider buying another 2 sets!

    • those ozbargain nutters have done it again.. out of stock :(

  • confirmed receipt of my order (1 porsche). ordered thursday night/friday morning, delivered this afternoon to syd
cardboard shipping box was used (marked with LEGO, as per grazer's comment), with the porsche box inside. no bubble wrap.
porsche box is ok, very minor dent similar to what happens when stacking heavy boxes on top of each other
very happy, will unbox and assemble sometime on this side of eternity
    thanks op!

    • Awesome who was it delivered by?

      • sigh mine arrived at the delivery depot yesterday and i still haven't received it… Scheduled delivery is this Thursday though. Sydney as well. No updated TOLL tracking number as well

      • uh can't tell. box dropped off at reception. no stickers on the box to indicate who the local mover is (DPD and Aramex i assume are on the UK side)

  • +1

Received 2 Porsches today both in the original Lego branded outer cardboard box. Both in perfect condition. Thanks a lot OP

  • Just received mine. Well packaged with an outer carton. only slight ding in one of the corners but should be ok.

    Thanks OP

  • Arrived in original Lego box. Haven't opened it yet to check damage. Fingers crossed

    • +1

Excellent condition. One corner very slightly crushed in but no biggie. Happy days

  • Hi guys, which local courier made the delivery? Based on DPD tracking system, the item was delivered today, but I was home all day and there is no parcel!

    • I would email DPD/John lewis right this instant. See if you can get the local tracking number. i'm still waiting for their reply for my local tracking #

I was home today and no one buzzed at all and now it says it was an unsuccessful delivery, but get this, it was lodged at a "parcel delivery centre" 10 mins later. I guess i'll have to walk down and check my local newsgent to see if they've got my parcel as i don't have a "we missed you card" and no local consignment number to even track this locally.

      • Thanks Kasumi. Not only am I going to email them, I will be calling them at 4pm (7am UK time) to find out what's going on. DPD tracking system is just simply dodgy.

      • … sounds like auspost =D hope you get package soon. ridiculous that it travels halfway around the world without a problem, only to get lost in the final run

        • Definitely not Auspost. Thx to OzB, I buy heaps so am on good terms with our local parcel postie so he always buzzes me. Even my son was asking where was his orange Porsche LOL

      • DPD tracking system has proven to be dodgy. Below is the response from John Lewis.

"I am sorry to hear that the tracking indicates that your delivery has been made, our internal tracking shows that your parcel has been scanned out at the delivery hub and is in the process of being delivered."

Really wonder why the tracking system doesn't match up.

        • Are they not giving you any local tracking at all? I called TOLL and was transferred to TOLL IPEC and the lady there said she can't use senders tracking number to find TOLLs number. It's so stupid as they are being linked for some reason on the DPD website.

  • DPD Tracking hasn't updated since 8/9th.. Anyone figured out a way to track locally yet with the consignment info we do have?

  • +1

Mine arrived today, shipped in the usual lego outer box, and no sign of any damage :)

  • I got 1/2 of parcel today, and there is no dent whatsoever for both outer and inner boxes. The bad news is, I don't know where the other parcel is, and Toll consignment number is shown as 'delivered'. I have already emailed DPD about it, hopefully will get an answer soon.

    • Where did you get the Toll consignment number from? I have asked John Lewis twice and they can't provide me with a local tracking number. Bummer.

      • The tracking number was provided to me via DPD's email as soon as the parcel arrived in Australia. I just got off the phone with Toll and apparently one parcel went missing during the transit and that's why I am short on 1. I will wait for DPD's response now.

        • Oh no. Hopefully DPD is gonna sort that out. Let us know how it goes. :)

        • @sptandy: Still waiting for DPD to reply to my email about local tracking

        • I have rang up DPD at their UK office and was told that they can't provide me with a local tracking number as the item was not delivered by their appointed local courier, despite the item was shown been delivered in their tracking system. What the!!!??

        • @sptandy: What a load of BS. If i were you, i'd lodge a CC chargeback and see what they'll say

        • Will consider doing so. Both John Lewis and DPD advised they are conducting an investigation and will come back to me within 48 hours. I will see what they come back with.

        • @sptandy: very happy that the other parcel was delivered today! Toll must have found it, finally.

        • +1

That's great news. Guess everyone has a good ending after all. ;-)

        • @sptandy: yay!

    • How did you contact DPD? I can't find any email addresses for them.

  • After some persistence, DPD finally provides me with the local tracking number and the courier name - Fastway. Checked on their tracking system and some unknown person has signed off as me. Any idea how I can recover the parcel? This is simply fraudulent!

    • At least that's a breakthrough progress! Hopefully you will be able to track down the parcel, and if worst case scenario eventuates, I think there is enough protection in place (courier's indemnity insurance / credit card clawback etc) to either get another one sent out to you, or get a refund.. At least I am confident I am fully covered for my missing parcel.

      • Send an email to fastways asap and call them tomorrow. They should check with the delivery driver where it was sent to. I reckon he delivered it to a wrong address (maybe a neighbour) as I've had that happen and the driver had to come back, pick it up from the wrong house and redeliver it again. Hubby has sent items with Fastways so I know they include insurance, so at least you will be covered as feihong has said. From memory, I think the drivers are held accountable so they should be willing to find it for you.

I've just gotten an email from DPD as well and I had to ring the number to find out it was fastways that delivered mine. Tracking shows it was taken to the local servo for me to pick up. Our local fastways guy is hopeless as he always takes it to the servo and doesn't leave a card

        • +4

Finally received the parcel from a fellow Ozbargainer in my neighbouring suburb! Apparently, Fastway has bundled my Lego Porsche with his and sent the whole lot to him. Can't believe how this can even happened. On a positive side, got to meet a fellow Lego collector.

Like the rest of the guys, it came in the original Lego shipper box and the content itself is in perfect condition.

        • @sptandy:

Glad it got sorted out! You should have shouted that Ozbargainer a packet of Eneloops for his trouble (that being ozbargains currency of choice) haha!

    • How did you contact DPD? I can't find any email addresses for them.

    • Did you call or email them? My package was 'attempted delivery' five days ago, but no notification was left at my home. What's the best way to contact DPD?

  • If it helps anyone. Purchased this before the deal appeared here last week. Delivered today. Delivered in external LEGO packaging. Minor bumps and scuffs externally. Kit unblemished internally.

Edit: See others have had some problems. Not trying to be blasé just adding that my experience has been pain free.

  • My package has being returned to John Lewis for some reason. This should be interesting..

    • Weird? :/

      • Did you email DPD?

        • No not yet. I sent a message to John Lewis

    • This is my tracking history

12 Oct 2016 22:19 Hub 3 - Bham Your parcel is on its way back to JOHN LEWIS
12 Oct 2016 22:18 Hub 3 - Bham Return to consignor has been requested
06 Oct 2016 22:12 Hub 3 - Bham We have your parcel and it's on its way to our depot
06 Oct 2016 22:10 Hub 3 - Bham We have your parcel and it's on its way to our depot

      • WOW! So it didn't even leave the UK at all before it was requested to be returned. Interesting…

        • Yep.
This is why I hate shopping at massive international online shops like this. I've had nothing but bad experiences from places like this and The Hut and others.

I was expecting it a failure of an order, so not stressing about it.

  • DPD Tracking isn't working this morning, 'Error retrieving your parcel details'. Can't get the DPD number to work in Fastway, was it a subset of the original number or a totally different number?

    • +1

Hi. It will be a different number.
Some Ozbargainers received the local tracking number when the parcel left UK, but for some of us, we have to contact DPD directly to get that number.
I will say the quickest way is to call them direct on their UK line.

      • +2

Use this tracking instead https://www.dpd.com/tracking . It is much better than the one from the email. But it still doesn't show the local tracking, so you will need to email DPD and ask for that.

I picked up my Porsche today. As most have said, it came in the original Lego shipping box. Was in great condition, barring a slightly crushed corner, and some black print rubbed off against some of the edges.

Hope others can get their problems resolved soon

  • received the box last night.

package in a lego brown cardboard box, no dents to the lego box inside.

  • Got my order today. Haven't opened it yet as at work but corner bit dented, hopefully it is just the packaging. Great price overall though. Glad it turned up.

  • Received mine today, Porsche is in excellent condition(Thanks for the LEGO box), the VW Campvan is in good condition, too. Previously received the Pet Shop was damaged badly, after negotiation they decided to refund 30 pounds(around $48AUD), havent got fund yet, but pretty happy with their customer service.
