Even though all science fiction TV is utter garbage somehow this managed to be a pretty compelling first episode.
Wouldn't you be better off using a VPN and paying for HBO Go or whatever their streaming service is? Your going to get GoT as a bonus along with the myriad of other sometimes great TV shows that HBO creates.

WOW the quality is terrible! 480p at best….no wonder people turn to piracy
it's try before you buy.
Imagine paying $50/month for it to watch sports. And not being able to watch via a web page, but an awful Windows client that breaks every time Windows & Silverlight have a marital argument, logs you out randomly, and can only be installed a set number of devices.

Well Foxtel Go is a joke, but it looks like they're going to replace Presto with something else Foxtel related so I hope that better competes with Netflix et al.
That said, the HD IQ box is good, especially Watch Anytime. Managed to watch all of Key and Peele and most of Dark Matter before they took it off. Its still a rip though.
Now go watch both of the 70's movies this is based on, kidlings.

I saw as a kid… disappointed with the amount of nudity. Sex robots got me excited then and gets me just as excited now. Please let this remake live up to TNA expectations.

I'm only 32 but a massive Sci-Fi fan since I was a kid. Westworld (1973) and Futureworld (1976) are definitely worth the watch, especially the first one. If not for Yul Brynner and his iconic, unsettling character and perfomance as the Gunslinger alone, he's the original Terminator.
It's also notable for being written and directed by Jurassic Park novelist, Michael Crichton and having the first ever CGI scenes in a feature film.
This TV series definitely does it justice though, I have to say.
I thought Chriton's "Andromeda Strain" a couple of years earlier that had the first CGI (with its rendered map and "Life" simulation)
Apparently that was done with an actual, practical effects 3D model that they rotated along with optical light, a special 35mm camera rig and a newly developed video system where they manipulated the chroma and luma to give the chart its colours and slit-scan photography for the layers to produce the computer generated appearance.
The only computer used was the one that electronically controlled the camera movements.

Not confirmed for 5 seasons. The creators have 5 seasons worth of content but there's no guarantee of renewal. HBO will renew season by season as per usual.
Thanks spartacus77, I enjoyed this very much. Hopefully the series will continue to explore the ever blurring lines between fantasy and reality.
I have an issue and question about Foxtel's posting method. As much as I enjoyed the scene at 00:50:00 (lol), should Foxtel's post have no age checking mechanism? I only saw the MA15+ rating (in white writing under the video) after watching.
For the record I am over 15 and generally do not agree with censorship. However there are laws in place for the greater good of our society, so if we are going to use the rating system in place I feel there should be some sort of age check. Perhaps those in the know here can help me understand our system. Is the way this video way posted in compliance with the law?

Game of thrones sorta learnt it's lesson - it's like a awkward, boring car chase in the middle of an otherwise good story.
My initial hype was satisfied by that first episode.
