Popular Flavours for Food Items - Why Does Everyone Go for These?

I notice every time I'm at the supermarket everyone goes for the same flavours. You can tell which one is the most popular immediately whenever one particular flavour/type sells out. Here's my list. Feel free to add to it ;-)

Up and Go drinks - Vanilla Ice is the most popular
Weetbix bites - either Banana blast or Apricot?
Tim tams - coconut cream
Ingham nuggets - salt and pepper nuggets

Just a thought on people's snacking behaviour… LOL

So do you get a raincheck?

I rarely ever notice certain flavours sold out. Maybe your local supermarket needs to improve its stock keeping?

Sometimes things are sold out in the aisle but they've placed them in a mega display in one of the aisle ends because they're on sale.

You miss-spelt double coat Tim tams

I know, who gets coconut cream?! Most of the new flavours are not that good.

That said, I tried the new mango flavour on the weekend and I was pleasantly surprised. My expectations were low given my experiences with other recent fruity flavoured Tim Tams.

You can't mess with Tim Tams, they're all awful except original and double coat

    Kettle Chilli chips

    • I love how these are chilli and not sweet chilli! The chunky ones are also amazing too!

The other alternative is Doritos Burn, which apparently appears to be 'Only at Coles'??

        • Thanks for the tip, going to see if I can find them!

Surely these are the least popular flavours?

    • Apricot bites are easily my favourite, followed by wild berry

      • I like the honey flavour and wild berrry, not a big fan of apricots.

    • Cookies 'n' Cream is pretty unpopular.

Tim tams - coconut cream these are not popular at all

  • Tuna - cant remember the brand but Mild indian curry flavour is so hard to find. its either wildly popular that its low stock, or so unpopular that they are phasing it out.

that flavour is great with sushi rice though!

Connoisseur Ice Cream - Literally every new flavour (cough cough Matcha cough cough)

    • Whoa - I didn't even know that existed :|

      • Spread like wildfire in the forums and ice cream deals, super rare. I only got one tub because of a stingy bitch cashier.

what if its because theyre not popular flavours so they dont keep many in stock?

OP is trying to create a fad so that actual popular flavours will stop running out at their store, I'm onto you OP

Am I the only one who likes all the $1 Tim Tam flavours or is their something wrong with me?

    • +3

A good price improves most flavours.

No, there are plenty of budding amateur organic chemists who like to play 'spot the ester' :=p

  • Lipton ice tea Mango flavour is only available at some Woolworths stores but not others. It's not even available at Coles!

  • It's what people have grown up with. After a certain age, most people don't like trying new things.

    • interesting point you've got there, so what is that 'certain age'? in ur opinion?
