  • Damn cant combine your older code i posted lol.
    awesome price though.

  • Got one last night, thanks to justwii and lucky that i didnt use that aotc5 coupon and did some ozbargain search again prior to buying lol.

  • Nvm, great deal

  • Wonder if it will be cheaper during the Xmas sale?

    • +1

It can be better compared to 10% sale. But I have seen the 20% or over sales are not repeated during Christmas from last few years by most retailers.

      • This is a 10% sale right?

        • Yup. As per the title. You can Wait for Target or other Ebay deals with 20%.

        • @Gaggy: Thanks. I will wait.

  • +1

good price, paid $69 for fifa17.

  • You reckon you could sell Fifa for $40?

    • Exactly what I was thinking to get the console down to $300. Looking at eBay and Gumtree, Fifa should still fetch $40-$45.

      • I actually want another media streamer and separately I want one of the newer xbox controller for the bluetooth functionality. I figure another xbox gives more capability.

      • +2

Yep I sold FIFA last week on eBay for $50. Only took an hour to sell.

        • I sold mine for $70 in 15 mins, that's because I got the game 2 weeks prior to the launch :D

    • Yes, sold Fifa for $45 on Gumtree this Sat just gone. Took 4 hrs to sell. I guess location will make a difference in sale speed…

  • +2

No credit to: HomemadeIcing on Justwii deal for the exact xbox deal…

    • You're making a huge assumption that I actually saw that comment. For one, I always give credit to anyone or any site I find deals on. What do I have to gain by not giving credit? If it helps any, I have a full list of every MS product on site as we (CR) negotiated the coupon. I chose this as the deal I wanted to post tonight.

      • +3

I always appreciate your efforts and you might have missed it. But I remember a deal where you made a comment like I did today to another user saying, "No credit to XXXX huh?".
May be you can forgive users as well.
(Edit: Now I have pointed out, will you add him? Having said that, nothing personal. Don't stop my cashrewards in queue ;) )

      • +1

        What a hypocrite.

You go after me for not giving credit to stuhtb and now you go and do the exact same thing.

        • +2

Chill peoples geez! Why can't we all just get along :)

        • +1

Hypocrite? TA found the deal himself without seeing the comment, so there was no need to give credit. In your deal, you posted it after seeing stuthb's comment, so you should've gave credit.

        • -1

@lyl: Nope I never declared that I saw stuthb's comment before posting my deal but at least I was able to give credit to him afterwards. Anyway the original deal was a CR related deal, wouldn't TA be subscribed to that thread to answer queries?

        • +3

          @ShamelessBargains:

Replying to stuthb's comment with 'Cheers mate, have posted it up' implies that you found the deal through stuthb's comment, and later giving credit to him in your post confirms that.

Not sure if TA was subscribed or not, but if he received a notification for that comment, I don't see why he would wait over 24 hours before posting it.

From what I can see (pretty sure you also PMd me previously about it before), TA has a history of giving credit for his deals, so if he saw it from a comment, he'd give credit. Let's just move on and get back to discussing the deal.

        • +2

          @lyl:

enough ozb politics for today :)

Good call, there's enough politics already on this site

        • +1

          @ShamelessBargains:

Damnit, thought i successfully ninja edited that part out right before you commented XD

        • @lyl:

Nah I was too quick this time :P

        • -2

@lyl: But he never added his name even after I advised here. I am not playing any politics, but I saw something TA doing multiple times himself in the past (not to me, but other users ) and thought to point it out when it is on him. We need to be a little decent to our fellow OZB members.
He is a Rep now afterall not a volunteer like you.

    • +1

all good guys! a deal is a deal and I'm glad it's been posted from TA! =D

  • +1

I have a ps4 but for some reason I'm thinking of getting one of these🙄 Would it be worth it for forza 6?

    • do it man…don't even think twice :P

      • +13

That's the thing I tend to think twice these days and think I would be better of repaying some cc debt instead of buying another console🤔

    • +3

A true ozbargainer should always buy if its a good deal and never worry about petty things like necessity. Why else would i have so many eneloops?

      • +1

I guess I am not a true ozbargainer I'm just starting to think it might be nice to reduce debt. Maybe I should leave my ozbargain membership badge at the door on they way out🤑

        • It not a bargain if you're paying interest on it

    • +1

If you have a decent PC or laptop with a good graphic card then you dont need an xbox to play forza 6. Just buy the game from Microsoft store and play it on Windows 10 :)

      • I have neither a decent pc or laptop. I did however install a ssd in the laptop last week with Windows 10 which I am yet to register because I can't read all of the serial number on the back of the laptop and don't want to fork out cash for it.

        • At that price you could buy the console, try it out and probably resell without losing any cash.

  • +2

Microsoft Store needs to get a rep on OzBargain. Pre-ordered BF1 with cash rewards coupon and groupon credit back in September, the order still hasn't shipped and live chat keep telling lies and telling me to wait for the email. So frustrating. Like talking to a brick wall with them. This is a great deal, but hope you don't have the same issues with them..

    • Get a refund? Or visit their store since you're in Syd.

      • +1

I don't want a refund. Got the game for $51, just want them to deliver it and complete the order as promised. Someone else had the same issue with their Mafia 3 pre order and it was not delivered on release day and took many follow ups. They make it too difficult, wouldn't expect this from a company like Microsoft..

    • +1

I had the same with a fifa code I bought on pre order. Spend hours on the phone with them. 3 weeks after the release they were pleased to tell me the problem had been fixed. I told them to jam it and give me my money back. Had my 2 weeks off were i wanted to put in some good hours and I had gone back to work by then.

    • +1

I am in this battle at the moment. The Game was showing "out of Stock" yesterday, but is showing back in stock now, yet support can't seem to tell me what is going on. I can't understand how they could screw up a pre-order from way back in mid September.

I had no email until I contacted support on Friday (Launch day). For a pre-order to miss the launch day….well what is the point? EB and JBHiFi do their best to ship early so you get it on or close to launch day but Microsoft have no clue it seems. I will not be pre-ordering from Microsoft again and expecting a game to be available on launch.

They could/should have contacted those affected on Thursday and offered a download code at least. But so far no coherent explanation has even been offered. I am tending to agree that they are obfuscating the truth; But why?

      • It is such poor service, especially when they claim they endeavour to deliver the game on release day in their "why pre-order from MS Store" spiel. From what I have read it seems to be a recurring issue. It will be the last time I pre order from MS Store that is for sure!

You would think at the very least they would get in contact with us if there was going to be a delay, or offer a download token to use whilst we wait for the game to arrive. Instead, I have had to waste time going through multiple chat agents - none of which were helpful in any way!

I have just checked my PayPal account and the authorization has re-appeared as of yesterday, so perhaps they plan to ship the game shortly. Hope so..

        • Mafia 3 came out on the 7th oct just got my copy delivered yesterday and about 3 painfull calls asking whats going on with order.
Battlefield came out last friday and thats not even shipped yet and that can take at least a week to come.
Honestly they are a joke,if it was not for the discount i would stay well clear.
I can get titles sent from overseas quicker and less hassle than these guys.

  • This has to be the cheapest UHD player on the market at the moment, right? Can anyone that has actually used it comment on how it goes as a UHD player and Netflix streamer? I am looking for a UHD player and this may fit all the bills I need (streaming etc.) and be a console to boot.

    • +1

      +1

I have also been thinking of buying one just for the 4k blu-ray player pretty much. Minus the game you are looking at under $300. Hard to see a standalone One S getting a lot cheaper than that in the near future?

      • 299 with a game at Christmas is quite feasible

        • Around a $100 drop you reckon. Not so sure about that one hahaha

        • @dins:

Looks like targets next catalogue has the xb1 (not S) and game for 249…. Still so sure?

        • @Wallyt99:

Hahaha well if the One S drops to $300 with a decent game it would be an absolute steal. I'm mainly after the 4k blu-ray player tbh. Even with this deal the console pretty much comes down to around the $280 mark so the way I see it $140 for the 4k blu-ray player and $140 for the xbox lol. Not a bad outcome :)

        • @Wallyt99:

Btw it wasn't me who has negged ya champ. Just thought I let you know in case you are thinking that it was me lol.

        • Okay I upvoted it just to prove my innocense :)

        • @dins:

Just bought an XB1 non s for 229 with ROTTR ftw.

        • +1

          @Wallyt99:

          Good for you champ :)

Can it play 4k blu-rays tho hahaha jks

        • +1

          @dins:

No way wife is letting me get a 4k TV in the next 5 years so….

        • @Wallyt99:

Hahaha just sneak one in when she's out. She won't notice lol. Good luck bud.

    • +1

I have the older one and for Blurays it's great, I imagine UHD is great too.

As for streaming, I might just be unlucky but it doesn't work great for me personally, not sure why. We were getting a lot of buffering on a 100/40 plan and I figured it was the connection, but I checked Netflix Fast app and it was reporting speeds of 66mbits at the time of streaming HD. We have an Apple TV 4 and swapped to that and Netflix has been perfect since.

Both the Apple TV and the Xbox are hard wired to the same switch, so I don't think its network related. I know people who say they have zero issues with it but.

Oddly enough Plex has the same issue, so I'm not sure if it's an API issue or something to do with my console specifically. Either way, I now use the Apple TV for streaming and the Xbox for disc based films.

      • Strange, we use ours as the Netflix streamer (without issues), but WDTV for media (Xbox doesn't play all audio codecs, down-mixes to 2ch!)

        • That is sad to hear as Xbox one S will be a great device or all rounder if it as all the audio codecs. There is no brainer to buy another 4k blu ray player when you can get this.

        • @Gaggy:

Definitely! From memory it can't play DTS audio, which is pretty common for 'acquired' movies (well, unless you get the small AAC ones)

        • I'm sure I'm in the minority. I didn't look into the Netflix issues a lot, but apparently many of the Plex users reported the issues starting when they released last years dashboard upgrade, but I only used it starting December so couldnt do a before and after.

  • Good price, but only if I need a Xbox One S. Wish it was PS4 Pro.

Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Special Edition Bundle (500GB) $359

    Release date: 1/11/2016
The Xbox One S Gears of War 4 Special Edition Bundle (500GB)1 includes:

Deep Blue Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller
Gears of War 4 full game download
    4-day Xbox Live Gold trial
For a limited time, free download of entire Xbox 360 Gears of War collection

Not a bad deal that one I'm thinking ….

    • That's what I got. Looks like a great deal….

      • Yeah looks a very good deal. Had it been physical copies instead of download codes would have bought it already hahaha. Our internet speed is crappy so still going back and forth lol. Also not a fan of white gear tbh tends to stand out a bit too much in the dark for mine. So this will do nicely.

        • +1

"DIGITAL EXCLUSIVE – Xbox Play Anywhere: Buy Once, Play Anywhere. Whether your first digital purchase of Gears of War 4 is on Xbox or PC, you'll gan instant access to the game on both platforms at no additional cost. Any progression or content you acquire on one platform, including Season Pass and Gear Pack content, will also be available on both platforms regardless of where you buy."

          It's great that it's digital.

        • @auna:

Yeah I guess it has it's pluses as well. It's just that our TPG internet is super slow and these would total like 120GB lol So will take over a week to download I would reckon hahaha. Also with a physical copy you can play and then resell for a few bucks less usually. Anyways finally pushed the buy button few minutes ago. A 4k blu-ray player, special edition console plus the entire Gears of War collection couldn't resist :)

        • @auna:

The deal has gotten even better now btw champ. Just thought I let you know.

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/273947#comment-4141484

Since you bought the GOW 4 bundle go to online chat and explain the situation and they should put through an order for COD + $10 MS credit free of charge.

Ends in 3 days tho so gotta be quick :)

    • +1

The description says 14 day Xbox live gold trail. Not sure which one is correct but if it's 14 days makes it much better deal

      In the box
Xbox One S Deep Blue Special Edition 500GB console
Deep Blue Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller
Gears of War 4 Standard Edition
For a limited time, free Xbox 360 full game download of Gears of War Collection (playable on Xbox One)
      HDMI cable
      Power cable
      14-day Xbox Live Gold trial

      • FIFA one also comes with 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial what ever that means hahaha - I'm a Playstation user btw so no idea :)

The Xbox One S FIFA 17 Bundle (500GB)1 includes:
        500GB Xbox One S console
        Xbox Wireless Controller
        FIFA 17 full game download
3 FIFA Ultimate Team Loaned Legends (Xbox exclusive)
        1-month EA Access
        14-day Xbox Live Gold trial

        • +1

I've never owned an Xbox myself but I believe Xbox Live Gold is similar to Playstation Plus, can't play multiplayer online unless you have Live Gold

        • +1

          @alwaysupforabargain:

Yeah worked that out a bit later lol

  • Crap just bought Gears 2tb from EB today and traded in the division game. Paid 581. Should I buy from here and return the console I get from Microsoft to EB (within 7 days)??? Or is it worth while to keep as Im probably a lot closer to Level 4 eb card now…. and the eb guy was really good customer service wise…

    • +1

Ask yourself what would baby Jeebus do.

    • I'm not sure if you could return it if you've already traded in the game. Returns as far as I'm aware require you to have all items on hand. I guess you could talk to them and maybe they'd price match MS.

2TB would be handy but, you'll be paying around another $100 if you need to get more capacity.

      • For $40 not worth the effort. Is that the wrong thing to say here on Ozbargain? Yeah guy on phone said same thing. Turns out my unit has a defect fan. Its got that weird sound coming from it. Seems like its a very common problem. Will take it back and swap for another unit. If its going to be hit and miss, would rather be dealing with a store than having to post and wait for replacement unit

        • Indeed. 500GB can fill up fairly quickly anyway, so I think 2TB will do nicely.

  • So tempted to get this for forza horizon…

  • Noob question. Can I claim GST if I carry this to another country?

    • +1

why not, as long as you have a tax invoice within 60days.

      • Thanks.

  • Guys any reason to upgrade to S if you already have old Xbox?

    • I'm in the same boat as you… My understanding is that this one supports UHD where she old one doesn't. Even netflix 4k only works on this one.

      • +1

Only really worth it if you have a 4k UHD TV and not looking to fork out a fair chunk of cash for Scorpio late next year I would reckon (may well cost $600+ according to what I have read). Otherwise if you are after all the bells and whistles prolly better off waiting imo.

        • In keeping the 1, there isn't much 4 k content around, will see if Scorpio has something compelling in features when it comes out.

        • @garage sale:

Scorpio will have compelling features all right no doubt about that one hahaha. But hard to see it going under the $600 mark tho for quite a while.

    • This is how I'm justifying it, apart from the 4k stuff;

      • Uses less power (about half when gaming)
      • Very minor performance increase with some games because of overclocked GPU (it also seems to greatly reduce screen tearing on some games. I hate screen tearing)
      • New warranty
      • Better resale value (when Scorpio arrives)
      • Only about a $100 or less changeover after selling original X1
      • The 4k is a real hit and miss. Or should I say the HDR. Turns out my Sony amp which was close to top line last year doesn't support HDR or 10bit. And pretty much many amps except real current stuff will have the same issue too. So now have to plug the xbox direct to TV, then another cable from TV HDMI port with ARC to HDMI port with ARC in amp. Pretty annoying, especially when I'll be getting the PS4 Pro too, which means that will also have to be plugged direct into the TV

    • There's a few actually,

The controller now has a standard audio plug (no adapter required) and also better grip,
The power button is now an actual button,
Takes up way less space, doesn't have a power brick and weighs about half as much,
There's a usb port at the front.

      • +1

Depending when he got his Xbox, the controllers had the headphone jack. These add Bluetooth but.

  • -2

Please don't downvote me for this…

But is it possible to use Bitcoin to buy the Xbox bundle? I thought MS opened up bitcoin payments

*edit just got off chat, bitcoin can't be used to fund physical products, bummer

  • VG price

  • just remember that returns thru microsoft online is a torturous affair.
if uthink its bad trying to get your order…

    • What was your experience?

  • Bought the One S a week ago from JB (had some left over coke rewards JB vouchers)
Great unit. Small footprint, quiet and forza horizon 3… wow!

Bought the media remote and tv tuner as well. Great media hub and am happy with the performance. Dont have a 4K TV yet but I know I am future proofed.

Downsides…. I would say a SSD would be better for faster game loading times

    • can you record from the tv tuner?
