Chuwi Hi10 Pro Windows/Android Tablet $159.99 USD (~$210 AUD) @ GearBest

I was looking for a cheap Windows Android tablet with stylus support and found this as the cheapest online. Only issue is the stylus needs to be bought separately. Specs seem decent and the bonus is it can run real Windows apps like MS Office so good for work as well. Full HD screen is nice too and light weight. Should be miles better tHan my old Acer W510

Thanks to gearbest for offering a coupon code for the first 10 buyers at $158.99 USD.

  • Can this stream foxtel?

    • Should be able to, don't see why not.

    • what is foxtel mean?

      • Cable Tv in Australia

          Not with Android….

The Android on Chuwi tablets is semi-rooted, it fails the SafetyNet tests, "CTS Profile Match: False"… which means a lot of banking apps, Android Pay, Pokemon Go, Snapchat, TV and movie streaming apps like Presto & Foxtel Go wont work because they see it as an unsafe rooted device…

There's an app called "Root Cloak" that hides the root status from some apps, but people have said it doesn't work with the Foxtel app… It would be wise to do some research before buying…

        • @FLICKIT:

          But would work in Windows.

Has Chuwi stopped supply activation keys using KMS rather than supplying the buyer a legal key?

    $212.57 with code
    $213.90 without code
What's the point of the code?

    • +1

Hey a discount is a discount - this is Ozbargain remember :)

    • That code is special applied for some customer and only limit to 10 stock,159.99 is already a good price, pls understand this.

    • The point is a $1.33 difference! Even a cent cheaper is still a cent saved.

Not worth a neg, but definitely a pov code. Less than 1%. Imagine if someone did an eBay or Good Guys code for less than 1%. Just trying to get cheap clicks.

  • Good price. Bought this, the stylus and the keyboard for $360 a few months ago to replace my Ipad 2.
Screen is fantastic especially for previewing photos. Build could do a bit of work to strengthen/reinforce some areas like docking point with the keyboard. Also alignment of the case to the ports like microsd caused a few issues inserting/removing the card and in one instance losing an microsd card inside.

    • Hows the cherry trail using chrome to browse? Is it still sluggish? Looking at getting something bigger than the Hi8, dunno if i should spend more and get a core M

    • how has battery life been ?
      especially when watching movies?

Would I be able to use this to stream Steam games to my TV from my main PC?

    • It runs normal Windows. So yes.

      • -2

Yeah, I caught that - I just wasn't sure it would be powerful enough to decode the video quickly enough to stream it (my last ancient tablet couldn't).

        • +1

Wifi might be a problem if it has a terrible antenna.

Hardware shouldn't be a problem with decoding.

        • @PainToad: OK, thanks for info.

  • Specs seem decent..

Yeah that's what we always see on Chinese brands specifications, but in real usage most of them will jot perform as good as expected.

    • well its z8300 so you should have all the info you need to work out the speed and if it suits your usage.

It does have a $50 kbd and for ~$275 you have an ersatz 10" FHD laptop but i'm thinking its only good for basic windows use.

I suspect it may not even do FHD video as well as I'd want.
