Cheapeast Energy/Gas Tariff in Melb-VIC

Hi Guys,

I am looking to switch my electricity/gas connection from Dodo to somewhere else.

Being a RACV member, SimplyEnergy is offering 40% off electricity and 25% off gas if pay on time. With that, another $50 online credit. But after a bit of research, I found their energy tariff is very high for peak hour usage, compared to Red Energy or Momemtum energy.

Just wondering if any fellow ozbargainers have already done the research and perhaps share their opinion about the best/cheapest Energy provider at the current time.

  i am in country vic but i find Momentum are the cheapest they don't dive discount but the rates beat the other providers who offer discounts.

    If the negative nellies are going to rain down, can you at least tell us why? Powershop isn't the easiest to deal with, but it is on the cheaper end of the spectrum from what I've heard.

      I actually find them very easy to deal with - either through calls or the online secure message system.

        No, I didn't mean like that. I was referring to all the business you have to do with watching out for special prices, and estimating usage and prebuying energy packages and whatnot. It's more hassle than just paying a bill every 3 months

        @outlander: just download the app, everything can be done there by logging in atleast once a month.

  I've been with red energy for quite a while now… I recently checked again, and for us (2 people currently using enough electricity to power a mid sized town), they're still the cheapest.
