  • Bosch use to state on their website where the product is made in. Perhaps as more and more products are made outside of Germany, they removed this info from the website.

For this price, it's most likely a non-German made machine if that is important to you (it is to me).

    • I don't think anything sub-$1000 would be German, would it?

      • +1

Yeah unlikely. I've had one of these for the last 3 years or so, and it's been excellent.

      • I remember years ago when I was in the market, the German made models were regularly available for ~$800 on sale.

Back then it was easily identifiable by the full stainless steel internal lining. Non-German ones had a plastic bottom.

    • Turkey, however I have owned one and it gets run every two days and it's excellent even with no rinse aid and the cheapest powder. Can't go wrong, one of the best products I have bought for the price

Should mention I only ever use the shortest wash at about 30min and it's practically silent

      • 30min is short, good to know that you're happy with it.

I prefer a hotter (and longer) cycle to ensure it's cleaner, maybe because our dishes are filthy! lol

Try using vinegar as a rinse aid. Super cheap and safe.

        • I have heard that vinegar works, but I have heard reports that it may damage some rubber parts. Either way, I picked up about a year supply of tablets cheap and I have to say they are better than the powder on its own

        • @Jackson:

Careful if you're using tablets on short cycles.

It may not have time to dissolve properly.

There is A LOT of detergent in a tablet.

        • @JB1: yeah I have read that, so far no issues. The ones I picked up were the Aldi Premium bulk packs

        • @Jackson:

I too also heard vinegar could damage rubber, but haven't seen any evidence of it anywhere.

So I emailed Asko for my own curiosity and what they say makes sense- should be fine to use vinegar as rinse aid because it will be very dilute in the final rinse water.

So there you go. Vinegar is also a disinfectant and my preference over the chemicals in rinse aid.

        • @JB1: i thought the rubber in question was in the rinse aid chamber, and therefore is affected basically 24/7 by undiluted rinse aid

        • @Jackson:

Good point, but even if rinse aid chamber leaked, all it would be leaking into is the dishwasher cavity anyway which isn't a cause for concern.

        • @JB1: unless you rely on the rinse aid. To be honest after about 2 years of use with standard powder certain glasses were a but foggy (only certain ones) and after using the tablets a couple of times they cleared up. I only used rinse aid once and at the time I noticed no difference, so happy to not worry about it for the time being. I may even alternate powder and tablets seeing as the tablets cleared up the glasses so shortly after, but I guess if the seals went on the rinse aid I could do that anyway

    This model comes from Turkey.

    • I thought so.

  • I m using the 50E38AU - The wash time is either 29mins or 2hr15mins.

  • -1

Does it come with installation or would I need to find someone myself to do it ?

    • +1

They are pretty straight forward as far as hooking them up goes. Thats if you are talking about replacing an existing one.

  • i have one of these. It really annoys me that items come out wet and then i have to leave them in the dish rack before putting away. It is probably user error though, as we use a lot of plastic items for the kids which may not dry as well.

    • +1

Do you use rinse aid?. That helps a bit. Also, once it has finished, open the door and pull out the racks and let it sit for 10 minutes before unpacking.

      • Rinse aid helps a fair bit indeed although certain plastics seems to hold on drops of water. I'm getting better/dryer results with Aldi powder combined with rinse aid compared to the expensive Qantum all-in-one tabs without rinse aid.

        • Are ur dishes clean with Aldi powder or not clean/leaves little soap on dishes which can taste bad? We use Quantum tabs with rinse aid and its not that bad.

        • @Gaggy: always clean except for the odd pan or so. I typically rinse all dishes/cutlery before putting it in the dishwasher though. Tablets leave more residue in my experience, at least the powder fully dissolves in every cycle.

Good price. I've got this model and been performing well.
Had some error messages come up on mine for unknown reasons but Bosch warranty dealt with it without any hassles.

Easy to install yourself. One electrical plug, one drain outlet and one tap.

    Installed in 15 mins.

Recommended product for the price. Made in Turkey.

    thanks op, bought one

  • Does anyone in Melbourne want to save an extra $50 on top of this? Looking for someone to help spend $150 towards my $300. We can split the additional cash back ($50 each). PM me.

  • Good price for a cheap model. I've had this model for about 4 years after the Dishlex packed up. If you think you dont need a dishwasher, your wrong. Other than a suitable mailorder bride, a good unit to buy.

  • weird question but does anyone know if I can run a dishwasher 5-6 metres away from the sink or is there a maximum distance?
I don't have any room under my kitchen cabinets and would have to put it elsewhere in the kitchen.
Just wondering if a plumber could still hook it up to the water if the water had to travel that far for washing and then back for drainage..

    • I have a similar problem. Please let me know if you managed to resolve it. Thank you.

    • +2

The inlet and waste hose from the dishwasher is 1.7 meters, you can purchase an additional 2 meter extension from Bosch Spare Parts. The maximum length for the inlet and waste should not exceed 4 meters as per installation manual. 5-6 meters will be too long and the pump will struggle, therefore Bosch do not recommend.

      • I have a similar situation. The outlet hose I use is longer than recommended, but its not connected to the s bend under the kitchen sink. It goes through a hole in the wall and into the yard. At no stage is it above the dishwasher, so it doesn't need to be pumped uphill. The levels of this outlet hose need to done properly as logic has already posted. One lire of water weighs one kilogram, so it wouldn't take much for a cheaparse pump to finally give up. If you can overcome this problem, for the inlet, a second hand washing machine hose can be used with a threaded plumbing fixture used to join them. These heavy duty hoses are expensive new.

  • Awesome deal, I paid ~ $600 in June and though was an OK price. I'm pretty happy with it, reasonably quiet and only have drying issues if too much plastic stuff on the top shelf.

  • Fantastic!
Was waiting for a deal on dishwasher and this shows up, Tks OP!

  • Anyone know when the 15% deal ends?

  • I do not see any 15% discount in the basket? Am I doing anything wrong?

    • The deal is expired…
