    Hi Rep
Any chance of S7 edge deals around $850 mark for Aus stock.

  • Hello Sonny , not at the moment Sorry, price does not work. I wish it did :-)

The rep re-posts the same deal as https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/274920 where I have comment. I would like to emphasize my true experience again since every community member is looking for the deal, not a rip-off. The below is pasted from the last thread:

Please be aware of this business. My wife purchased the Samsung phone from its eBay store. The phone had been claimed as AU stock with two-year official warranty. The GST invoice had been issued with ABN 74 164 554 401. Everything looks normal and legitimate until the phone has battery issue and we went to Samsung shop for claim warranty. We have been told phone set was overseas module which excluded from local warranty. We discussed the matter with this business and tried to sort out the solution. They said this was a "human error", but refuse to take any action. So we had no way but lodge the claim to NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal. There is no doubt that The Tribunal delivered the order that "UNIQUE MOBILES" should repay the amount of purchase (Notice of Order File No: GEN 15/57847). However, it is quite difficult to pursuit the damages since the business is operating in QLD, but I am in NSW. During the Tribunal's processing, there are a few facts indicating very abnormal business practise, such as they have multiple ABNs, such as ABN: 18114929574 on the website and 74 164 554 401 on the invoice; they have multiple locations: the shop front is at 103 Adelaide St, Brisbane ; they have multiple names: "Unique Mobiles", "Celltech Technologies Pty Ltd" and "My Mobile Group Pty Ltd".
It is not a quite small value goods, hope my experience could help you to make purchase decision.

I am only demanding this business responses to the order issued by NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal.

Hello Mr Qing Dai (owen14d) I have tried to look for your order and the only one I could find was on the 19 Aug 2013 5:28:31 am. you purchased a note 2 ?
is this the order you are referring to ?

      • Yes, this is the item we have purchased. We thought this should be local Samsung product, but we discovered it wasn't. We refused your in-house repair with the charge so lodged the claim into NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal. The reason I stop seeking the damages is your business is too remote while the value of goods is not significant for us to do anything further.

I just speak out what happened to me and well, you can still ignore as your ignorance to NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal.

        • Hello Mr Qing Dai

I have looked deeper into your case our records show the phone was returned to you as it was not in original condition (condition: cracked screen, swollen battery, usage marks and dents all round)
I believe we replace the battery and offered to replace the screen at cost price.

          regards
          Um rep

        • @idea555: I know, I know you are going to come back with that!
          1 I am asking why it is not the phone we paid for;
          2 The battery was not Samsung original one, so it became inflated and bent the screen;
          3 Phone Set does not have single scratch!!! (I can show pictures to everyone here);

          Let me make myself clear:
You were selling the item which is not the AU item as it supposed to be. It is cheating! Can you deny it?

Again, if you have any legitimate argument, please response to the order issued from NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal.((Notice of Order File No: GEN 15/57847))

        • Hello Mr Qing Dai,

We DO NOT sell overseas stock disguised as Australian stock, there is no need we have both options on our website

We do indeed sell both Import and Australian stock (clearly indicated on the website) and don’t deny that in your case sent the wrong stock in error. However, by the time we discovered this when you sent us the phone for warranty, it had physical damage.

          regards
          Um rep

        • Since you are lying and trying to mislead the people here, I am going to disclose the documents from the tribunal.

Again, this is not warranty disputes, this is your misbehave in doing the business, at least to my purchase once.

I have said this multiple times, could you please respond to tribunal's order?

I will paste the tribunal's finding once I am at the front of desktop.

@owen14d: In fact, I am so glad this business responds here and I know he would try to put me in the bad image by accusing our "faulty" so as to deny their liability. But the more he says, the more you know the nature of this business.

As I promised a hour ago, I paste the findings from NSW Civil & Administrative Tribunal to restore the whole fact. Everyone has your own judgment and the truth is the truth.

The below is section of "Evidence" and "Finding" from Notice of Order File No: GEN 15/57847

"The Applicant tendered a receipt for purchase (marked Exhibit A), dated 24 June 2014,
confirming the purchase of the phone, as described, for $679.00, inclusive of GST. I accept, on
the basis of that evidence, that there was a supply of goods in NSW.
The Applicant said he was unable to tender the original advertisement, as it was removed from
the Respondent's website He submitted that the advertisement stated that the phone was
"Australian local product", and that the fact that GST was charged confirmed that belief.
He also tendered an extract from the Respondent's website (Exhibit B), which disclosed that
Unique Mobiles (the Respondent's trading name) sells "import direct products" in partnership
with Blue Rabbit Ltd, Hong Kong. It states that import direct products are not covered by a
manufacturers warranty , but "come with a voluntary warranty provided by Blue Rabbit Ltd and
the statutory protection of the Australian Consumer Law"
He said that once he became aware of the battery overheating and the screen had cracked, he
took the phone to Samsung, who declined to repair the phone under warranty because it was
an overseas model. Samsung excluded user error.
The applicant tendered also a chain of emails (Exhibit C) between the parties, dated between
22 September 2015 and 30 September 2015. On the basis of that correspondence I am
satisfied that the Respondent wrote on 23 September "Sorry you received the wrong handset".
On 24 September , the respondent added "please accept our sincere apologies for the mixup in
handsets", and explained that it occurred as a result of "human mistake".
The Respondent requested the return of the handset and wrote "We will stick to the two year
warranty". The Applicant posted the phone to the Respondent on 25 September and it was
received on 30 September. On the day it was received, the Respondent confirmed that the
damage was caused by the battery overheating, but said that the battery is only covered by a
six month warranty. On that basis, the request for a refund or replacement was denied."

"I accept the applicant's evidence that he did not receive the handset he had contracted to
receive, as it undisputed and corroborated by the concession of the respondent. I also accept
that the handset was damaged because of the battery overheating, as this is not in dispute.
The applicant believed he was entitled to a two year warranty. On the basis that the applicant
did not get that for which he contracted, I find in his favour."

I will not respond to this business anymore, however, I will do my best to let everyone, at least in OZBargain community, know my experience with this business.

Price difference between s7 and s7 edge is increasing because s7e is so much better.

    • Whats so much better? Its just a bigger screen isnt it?

      • +1

With s7e for 5 grams more weight you get 18% bigger battery and 16.5% bigger screen.

        • So, given screen usage is the major component of battery life, about the same then? :p

I actually hate the edge screen, but I'd love the bigger battery.

        • @justtoreply: :-) screen is not on all the time meaning you get great stand by time too.

  • Sounds like Optus has a huge pile of unsold S7s.

  • What is the difference between AU stock and Grey Imports? How would I know if I'm getting sent the correct stock that I have bought?

    • Hello The main difference is the warranty 24 months for australian stock and the warranty is with samsung australia
overseas stock or grey imports come with 12 months from the website or company you buy the phone off

All Australia models phone has a A-tick symbol on the box or on the phone. it really should be stated on the website you buy off to 100% Australia stock is what is on www.uniquemobiles.conm.au

Overseas stock will say 12 months warranty and should have a reference to hong kong ( bluerabbit Hong Kong for www.uniquemobiles.com.au) , also look how the website posts the item , dhl , fedex , toll global this will probably mean overseas stock

      hope this helps
      regards Um REP

  • Just bought one, good service (put the tempered glass screen protector on for me) GST and 2 year warranty. Off to XDA yo find a good ROM to get rid of the Optus Helooooooo….
