Panasonic 2.5kw Econavi Reverse Cycle Split System Air Conditioner $855 (+ $150 Worth of Gift Cards) @ Harvey Norman

100

Hi was in the market for an air conditioner on this 38 degree day in Melb. Went to HN to check out the Panasonic which has received pretty good reviews. $855 for the 2.5kw and you get $100 Eftpos Card and also a Bonus HN $50 gift card for the next few days. The $50 gift card ends on 24/11 not sure how long the $100 Eftpos card offer goes for.

How much for getting it installed.

    • Depending on the length of the pipes I'm going to guess $600. Anyone else wanna have a shot?

      • Yup $600 bucks for standard back to back install is the quote i'm getting from everyone.

      • what if im replacing an existing system. i can reuse the pipes right

how much is a piece of string?

Are you getting it installed on the top floor of a multistory concrete apartment block, or a typical suburban home?
Prices range From $400-$1200 in my experience.

  • installation will take care of eftpos card +

  • good size for a bedroom.

  • Nice unit, good enough for a large bedroom. Budget as much in install costs.

Nothing will beat getting this for $685 from TGG eBay during the 20% off promotion!

  • Pointless comment but yeh. Can't understand the install costs in Australia. In Europe the install is only 50euros had 6 done and had it lowered to 45 each

    • Thats why people to immigrate here to be ripped off

    • It takes a half a day's work typically. I'm not sure what the salary is in Europe, but I'd be surprised if anyone could live well on 500 euros a week (assuming two installs a day). And that's ignoring parts from the cost of installation.

    • Depends greatly on whereabouts in Europe you're talking about. For example in Finland no installer would even move their arse for less then 80 euros (about 115 AUD). And that's per hour.

    • I imagine it's the cost of the gas that makes up the bulk of the installation cost, but it wouldn't look as attractive if it was advertised at $1200.

  • Got this unit last summer cost us $1350 fully installed in sydney.

    Its back to back installation.

    • What do you think of the unit so far?

Haven't got a real complaint to be honest.

It works as what i expected to cool down onn summer and imthe inverter to heating system on winter.

It has couple function like econonavi and teml control one TBH didn't use it.

The reason i choose Panasonic instead of mitsu or Fujitsu is the nano g function apparently it filter thru small particle in the air.

  • So funny you should make this post - i was doing research yesterday too (in melb)
Installation is $600 for a 2nd story house back / back with electrician certificate - have contact if you need (west)

So i currently have 2 Panasonic Aircons in my house - both working great with no issues and minimal noise
3 years going strong - was looking for another aircon for baby room - reviews on both have been positive

  • Too many ways to skin a cat when we talk about bargains.. I just paid $855+$689(installation), split paid over 5 AMEXs, so effectively $894 for the total cost.. Better than the ebay TGG deals or Masters deal I had in the past.

  • Just want to give a heads up to everyone who is at HVN Springvale VIP night today, they quoted the special price of $788, but you will not be entitled to the $50 HVN GC, and the manager said he will send a link to claim the EFTPOS GC, which I am not 100% convinced, since Panasonic's official cashback promo ended in July..

    • There is no link to claim the EFTPOS GC. They should give it to you right there in the store and you go home and activate it it says so on the website so they should honour it. Thats what i received anyway.

      • Agreed, because I got an empty EFTPOS card waiting to be activated, hence I was not convinced about HVN Springvale's words that 'you claim this card online'.

  • Great little a/c, very quiet and seems decently powerful. Picked one up during TGG ebay specials. Also claimed a cashback from panasonic at the time

  • Anyone know a good deal for ~5kW unit?
