Haha, found one during the EB sale. Great keyboard, was wondering how long it would take to get even cheaper.

    • Can you please give a brief review of it, one assumes you use it for gaming?

Used to prefer membrane for the noise, but mine's started to degrade after only a year, so looking for a quiet, long-lasting mechanical that's comfortable. Can you recommend this one?

      How's the ghosting of keys?

My current keyboard is a bastard for it - in games at times I have to hold capslock, alt and "a" and my keyboard only registers 2 of those :'(

      • I use for typing and gaming - coming from a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard. It's a huge improvement, feels fantastic typing, keys don't make too much noise, but I'm buying some rubber o-rings anyway to make it even softer. The back lighting is good to have, but I use it on a few computers and without installing the software the keyboard defaults to a slightly annoying wave pattern. You can press lighting+0 to make it solid, but it's annoying to do every time. I'm a bit annoyed that the one I really wanted went on sale (Corsair K70 lux), but I'm not taking to back to save $20 or so. Happy to be on the mechanical bandwagon.

        • Thank you very much for that, Warden - enjoy your new keyboard :)

  • Good price for the keyboard, I bought one from the good guys and ended up returning it.
The layout of the keys was too annoying. Eg, if you press the button to the left of the backspace button, from the layout, I would expect "+" to show up, not "=".
If you can put up with that, then it's a good keyboard.

    • Do you mean how the legends are arranged? The layout looks normal to me, the markings are backwards though, which is likely due to the placement of LEDs in Cherry MX switches.

      • Yeah the icons are upside down for me.
But I did notice, the next keyboard that Logitech made after this was back to normal! haha

Ahh yeah, that would be a choice they made because the LED on Cherry MX style switches is above the switch. Corsair does the same thing and Cherry has all the legends at the top of the keys on LED keyboards because of this.

Dammit, now you've pointed it out I noticed that the legends are "upside down" on my K70 too. :(

        Sorry :)

  • really annoying i bought it for $117 and the return period has now past with EB (7 days?)

    • I bought at $117 too ={

      • Well at least you get local warranty…

    • At least you get local warranty and a standard Australian/US layout.

      • keyboards don't really fail, would rather save the $27 ;)

and UK layout pretty much the same? maybe pound sign annoying, but keyboard selector changes that

I'd rather pay the $27 tbh.

There are a LOT of differences.

Just some that i'd probably find annoying:

*Different sized keys (eg. shift and enter)
*'|\' key is moved next to Z instead of above enter.
          * The @ symbol is no longer on the 2, and is instead next to enter (this would annoy me quite a bit)
          * Tilda (~) is also moved next to enter. Same with hash #.
          * " is now above 2 (that would probably annoy me most)

And there are a bunch of others.

We've been using US keyboards for so long (and especially if you have to alternate from a work/laptop keyboard to this, I would get pissy real quick)

        • @cheesecactus: some of us miss our motherland keyboards though :'(

Stoopid @ above the stoopid 2.

Good price. This will have UK keyboard layout, if that bothers anyone.

    • What is the difference between the two? In the pictures it looks exactly the same.

      • +1

Wikipedia explains the differences. They are fairly minor, mostly limited to punctuation characters.

The images on Amazon show the US layout, but the Customer Questions & Answers section says it's the UK layout.

        • Ahh I see, thanks for that.

  • Been looking at a mechanical brown keyboard but will stick to my G110 for now with its headphone port and correct US layout.

  • Now showing temporarily out of stock.

  • G810 for roughly $120 if i'm reading right. Is it worth the extra $?

I realise it's out of stock at the moment but you can still order.

    • Ooh tempting. Don't know if it's allowed but this should be posted as a seperate deal.

      • It is tempting but i was set on the G910 for the wrist support & macro keys, don't know what to do now…

        • Good points. I Might wait for a Corsair deal as well.

        • @Spizz: Was too tempting, i ended up buying it. Let's see how i like it.

    .
Thanks for the post although the UK Amazon sale has ended (doubt I'd have got used to the UK keyboard layout)
I noticed in comments that thewarden said they were on special @ EB Games for $117 and I picked one up from there
which is still $22 cheaper than MSY have them for and they're cheaper than anyone else …..so once again THANKS !
