I was hoping their 'shopping event' would cover a few more products - specifically their iPhone 7 (Plus) leather cases. Does anyone know of a way to get this any cheaper than the RRP of $75?

    • Buy it… absolutely love my case especially with the buttons included now.

on Selected macs - looks like it's the previous macbook pro line up.. not the new one =)

    • Wait times on new ones are mental.

Disappointed that this doesn't apply to the series 2 Apple Watch. Must be trying to move old stock.

    • +1

The series 1 is technically the new model as well, it has a dual core processor just no gps and it's not waterproof. Basically an original model with a new processor

      • Yeah unfortunately I wanted to take it swimming.

        • Mine (Nike+) died after splashing around in the pool after 15 minutes. This was the first time in the water on the Sunday, after receiving it the first day it shipped on the Friday. Was told replacement would be early December. Got my refund and still wearing Series O. Not that keen getting another one after Apple told me the Swim proof Watch wasn't covered for liquid damage.

  • Nice to see them doing something again as opposed to skipping it last year and sprouting some weird PR line that was similar to "being good to your employees is good for business", as though staff can't manage a one day sale.

Was hoping for 10% off :-(

Oh, so it's just gift cards? Yawn.

    • +2

That's how it was in past Apple Black Friday deals.

They give you some money back, but that money can only be spent with them, and it ensures you come back for a future purchase. You can't buy much with $70-200 so you'll be giving them more than that. It's a win for them either way and guarantees one more sale.

  • very disappointing as watch S2 and iPhone 7/plus not included

Put yourselves out of the misery guys and buy a Samsung!

    • Swap one misery for another…

But I want a product that works

Would the gift card go on the invoice I wonder? If you could return within 14 days and keep the gift card

    • You have to return gift card as well from my past experience in 2013 black Friday.

      • & if you spent the gift card they'll refund you the total, less the price of the gift card.

  • Whats the gift card value on the sonos speakers

Cheaper to buy through my university & I pocket the savings, not an Apple gift card

    • Not iPhones though

    • +1

That may be true and I agree the deal isn't spectacular compared to what other retailers occasionally do, it's not a good reason for a neg. Not everyone goes to uni.

  • can save the gift card for iphone 8 :P

  • +4

    This is terrible.

E.g. for Macs, the best you can get is 10% off. In the form of a gift card to Apple. While retailers regularly have 10% off sales, such as JB Hifi RIGHT NOW.

It's also for 1+year old shit, at the same list price as when it appeared on the market. Overall, this is a disgrace, and typical of Apple in recent times.

When you're the biggest and richest company in the world, you don't have to play the same game as the people below you. As long as people are still going to buy your stuff at full price with little concession, why wouldn't you charge it?

    • My uni gets 12% off for Macs

  • how to buy a gift card and save, very confuse… can I use the gift card later on, let's say next month? Can anyone explain? thanks.

    • You buy a product with cash or card, and Apple gives you a gift card for the next purchase.

Only 11 upvotes, for Apple's biggest (one day) event of the year. Come on Apple. You can do better than this.

  • I want to go via my Velocity account to get 4 points per dollar. How do I combine cashback on that too?

  • Bugger, when did it expire - its not end of day yet!

    • It was yesterday.

  • Interesting, it was coming up on line up to an hour or so ago.
