Can I game on this PC? (Sony Vaio Duo 11)

Ok so I have an old Sony Vaio Duo 11 top spec with a broken screen that I was unable to get fixed due to Sony selling off Vaio. I was thinking about using it as a desktop considering I have a MacBook Pro Retina now.

Are the specs any good for lightweight titles.

Intel Core i7 3517U Dual core at 1.9 GHZ
Intel 4000 graphics
8GB Ram.

Thanks in advance.

  • Not really, 720 and on low is about the limit of the graphics on fairly old titles.

Some games wll be fine though doubt it could do anything recent.

  • you can if you add a egpu to it.

    but doesn't worth it though

  • +2

https://www.reddit.com/r/lowendgaming/ is the subreddit to visit for low end gaming suggestions.

Very old games can still be played, and they are not neccessarily crappy games

    Deus Ex: GOTY
    Age of Empires II HD
    Total Annihilation
    Undertale
Starcraft (probably even SC2, on the lowest settings
    Cave Story
    Stardew Valley
    Spelunky
    Super MeatBoy
    Hotline Miami

  • There's actually a ton of games you can play, they're just old or indie and not usually demanding in terms of 3D.

  • Look up "games for intel HD 4000".

The CPU and RAM don't matter in your case, they are not the bottleneck.

  • According to these YouTube videos yes we can

  • You can run these games:

    1) Internet games
eg/ Flash-based games, Facebook browser games

    2) Indie titles
    eg/ World of Goo

    3) New Light games
eg/ Minecraft, Rocket League, South Park SoT, CS GO

    4) Heavy titles from Last-Gen with dialed settings
eg/ NFS Carbon, GTA San Andreas, Borderlands, Bioshock, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Civ 5, Bioshock etc etc

    5) Emulator games
eg/ Atari, Sega, SNES, GBA, N64, PS1, Dreamcast
(and some lighter-titles from PS2, Gamecube, Wii)

You might be able to get some new titles to run…
…but they'll be running 720p resolution, on Low Settings, and hitting 30fps.

  • I just tried USF4 on steam.
    Benchmarked A on low.
