Just bought 80 piece wooden block set for $12 at kmart

      • yes, that's what I got in store. Another option for kids.

Also bought an expensive set (tegu 42 pieces) around A$105 delivered @amazon during black friday for my kids

Just remember there's a big difference between the size block a 1yo can play with compared to a 2yo. We got some blocks for my 1yo's birthday last weekend from a relative that look like the kmart ones and the pieces are too small. She can fit a whole piece in her mouth and is still at the 'taste everything' age.

Also no parent wants a 2+ gift for their kid that just turned 1. We have so much 2yo-6yo crap in our cupboards already.

        Yes, it might be.

For my kids, the size of kmart set is big enough (11m), and we also have blocks for 18m.

I added the kmart one just to help someone who may look for similar goods.

Correct!! Bcos every child develops at a different pace, so if you think ur child is ok then its ok - Recommended guidelines is just to cover ass
My kids have been playing with toys well above their age

        • Thanks unfortunately Kmart is out of stock. I went to their store got none. Disappointed. I hardly walk into Kmart.

Its frustrating when the shopping mall is packed and you rush to the store get nothing

        • @neonlight: check store stock first on website can save you time

        • @John Kelvin:

Got the last one from Parra, cheers

I'm a Lego fan (and serious collector) however Megablocks wins hands down when it comes to the very young ones over the extortionist Lego brand imo.

    • I prefer Lego. Megablocks are too loose for my taste.

    • Lego is a rip off though. At that age cheaper version would do.

      • I have a love hate relationship with the brand :) And you really did sum it up nicely

Thanks OP, great Christmas gift for 1-2yo.

  • Did anyone try to go via Cashrewards as I can't seem to find the product in there? I don't think it's available on this product.

  • So are these safe for one year old? They big enough for them to not put in mouth

    • They can put them in their mouth but are too big to swallow or do any damage really. Safe for a 1yo. They are also good later on, even my 6yo plays with them sometimes, usually with the little sister. Not sure if I want to pay $15 but delivered it's tempting.

Edit: they won't fit in the mouth completely.

      • Thanks
