    $152.96

there are cheaper alternatives that do the same thing

Why dont you just get it from amazon?

    • +1

+1 I ordered from Amazon (much cheaper) and its the best trimmer I have used. Highly recommend getting this model if you're after a trimmer.

If you buy it from Amazon don't you need an adaptor to make it work with AU plug?

Amazon normally doesn't ship products like this to Australia if the power source is different?

        • +2

I got the silver version of this from amazon when there was a sale earlier in the year for $90. It comes with a US plug. I second about it being the best shaver i have ever used. Its fantastic. Nothing trims my pubes better.

        • Yah, keep those curlies in check

  • +1

I just got this when I was in LA 3weeks back and would say it feels really solid but you sure do have to oil the stainless steel clipper head and keep it dry else rust might start to form on the edges. A little rust form on mine when I left it out to dry over night but manage to clean it out and oiled before any further rust patch forms.

  • Is it just for trimming beards?

How does it compare to 9818 which is the model I currently have?

    https://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Lithium-Stainless-Groomer-9818/d…

    • Trimming beards is what it's meant for.

I use it shave my head also, but this requires me to shave with the grain first, and then against it, otherwise it starts catching/pulling.

It's obviously not has powerful as a corded or larger battery type clipper.

As for the 9818.. I was under the impression they are exactly the same unit, but with a slight variation in attachments.

      • It says 20% more powerful? I wonder if that's 20% more powerful compared to 9818, to just marketing gimmick?

        • No doubt it's also "one louder" :)

        • Who knows…

And why do both these models sell for exactly the same price (at the Shaver Shop)?

Surely if the 9864 is newer and more powerful, the 9818 would be cheaper?

    • I bought one of these https://www.amazon.com/Wahl-Lithium-Stainless-Groomer-9818/d… about a month ago as well. Cost about $85 delivered and is the bees knees!

    • "Is it just for trimming beards?"

Ask leftspeaker, he takes his downtown

  • Just get one from Amazon and stop paying overs. Most people have a travel adapter lying around these days, if not they are dirt cheap. Best shaver I've had, no good for haircuts though.

    • It's not about travel adaptors necessarily. It's the bloody flimsy connection that it creates. Especially on something that moves like this.

I'd spend the extra coin and get the Australian connector.

      • I can assure you the connection is not flimsy, but I use a quality adapter, not a cheapo fire starter. You can always slightly bend the prongs for a tighter fit.

What do you mean by, "something that moves?" It's cordless!

That's a lot of extra coin to blow on a charging cable.

  • Anyone else had problem with the power button working intermittently? i.e. Sometime it won't turn on or off?

    • I had a similar problem, likely because I rinsed the blade with water. Surprisingly you can't actually let this shaver get in contact with water, or else you void the warranty. Luckily got mine replaced in-store, since the person at the counter said that this was common.

      • That is probably what did mine in. I rinsed the outside of handle to clean it and some water got in the top. I gave it a shake to get it out and then it turned itself on and would not turn off until I plugged the cable in.

Seems stupid there is no waterproofing of the power switch.

    • This problem popped up from time to time when I was investigating this model initially.

  • I thought the amazon one was slightly different? Amazon made in America, apparently makes a big difference….
I have the $90 Amazon version and couldn't be happier. Not sure its pro quality but it's powerful and works flawlessly. Best clippers i have used and the attachments are great also. 10/10

  • Got one for my birthday earlier this year. Absolutely love it. Highly recommend.
