  • No bonus data on either the 12 or 24 month $19 plan.

  • Price per a GB is basically the same as Ovo's everyday prices on both the higher two plans… Still decent for anyone who needs exactly 9 or 13GB (opposed to 8/12 with Ovo), but there's no real saving.

(Difference is $0.15/$0.05 per a GB between the 9/13 and 8/12 offerings, respectively)

    • +8

I thought the more important difference is that they're Telstra rather than Optus.

I used to be with TeleChoice. I worked in the Sydney CBD. I had multiple friends who would tell me they tried calling me and couldn't get through. I looked at my phone, no missed calls.

(And it wasn't my phone, I've since switched to a new provider, everything works perfectly).

They may be on the Telstra network, but their customers are definitely given a low priority, to the point where some calls just don't go through.

        • Can't say I've ever experienced that in the 2 years I've been with them.

Only difference is in extreme rural areas and you don't get 4GX otherwise the network is the same.

        • same here! just last night i was in the office (pitt st) and someone from mascot couldnt call me.
          both of us on telechoice

        • Hi Dayman

Our customers are very important to us and aren't given any less priority because of the network we use (which is parts of the Telstra 4G and 3G networks).

My bad, I thought Ovo was Telstra for some reason lol

  • Can anyone comment on the reception? I hear telstra coverage is shoddy around Thredbo/Perisher, whereas the other providers are better.

  • "Telechoice (Telstra 4G)"
    please amend, dont mislead people.

    correct is:
    "Telechoice (part of Telstra 4G)"

  • hmm too bad im on the month to month.
this is good now the difference between contract or month2month is big, so hopefully people will be willing to sign for contract.

  • The deal is good but I have just finished an unpleasant chat with its customer support. I have been with Telechoice for years and left my positive feedback on productreview website which was read by few hundreds. Today is actually the first time I am so unsatisfied with their human service.

I opened a chat with a guy called Silver and he was really slow answering my questions. I needed to wait 5 - 10 minutes for every action he takes. In the end, I quit the chat myself as I did not want to waste time on this Christmas data anymore.

Hopefully Telechoice can hire some faster chatters in the future.

    • Hey I just spoke to the same guy. No problems on my end. He was quick to reply and processed my plan upgrade quick.
Maybe your internet connection is slow

  • Has anyone successfully upgraded to one of these plans whilst on an existing contract?

TC customer service representative told me I couldn't recontract from the live 28 plan (still with 6mths contract to run) to the live 29 plan with the bonus 2gb data.
