    QE/QI do not work.

  • COTD Can you give us 1201N ? Not the *rap 1201PN you offered earlier.

  • How about puting the price in the heading?

  • +1

At $389 with pick-up, 2 years warranty & a 60 days no questions return policy to an actual bricks-and-mortar store the MSI based Medion Akoya E1222 is superior value to the CotD "Option C", 3rd version of this HP especially with the better software package.

    2 Years Warranty

    • Save $10 & get what extra? Same CPU (inc GPU), RAM, Screen, HDD, Batt, Wireless, etc.

      Purchased MSI before?
I've regretted almost all MSI purchases of mine. That is why MSI need the 60 day return warranty.

Will ALDI troubleshoot your computer problem?

          Atom N455 vs N450: http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=42503,49491,
Biggest thing you'll notice is that the TDP is 1W higher which means less battery time, the same otherwise.

Microsoft® Works, Corel® Draw Essentials, who actually uses that?
PowerDVD ??? well that will be useful when you tell me where the DVD goes?

Otherwise: Open Office, VLC and a whole lot of other Free Imaging applications around (GIMP, Paint .Net, etc) will do the same thing.

          • @b8two: I know you'll be absolutely delighted to hear I managed to get one of these little beauties (the 19th sold before 10:30am this morning) from my local Aldi (2.5km & 7 mins from work according to Google Maps directions (the next nearest is 3.9km & 10 mins)). The manager himself got one out and showed it to me, saying to try it out and bring it back if I'm not completely happy. He said they would be almost certainly sold out before the end of lunch - if they actually last that long.

I've only managed to have a sneaky quick play but it seems to be an excellent & robust build and had enough charge in the battery to work straight out of the box.

"Will ALDI troubleshoot your computer problem?"

            • If I have a problem within 2 months I'll simply return it for a FULL REFUND!
If I have a problem within the 2 YEARS WARRANTY period I will send it to Aldi's designated service centre. And as a big plus, Aldi actually do have telephone numbers to ring with problems!

"Biggest thing you’ll notice is that the TDP is 1W higher which means less battery time, the same otherwise."

            • This simply means the CPU can run hotter - AT FULL LOAD - without sh*tting itself. The actual wattage (V x A) used by the CPU is entirely dependent on load and IS proportional. Small CPU load = small CPU wattage. Higher wattage rating on CPU = BETTER! Plus I promise not to play Crysis at max frame-rate without the power brick!
Also you'll notice that the graphics base freq on the N455 is 200mHz!

"Microsoft® Works, Corel® Draw Essentials, who actually uses that?"

            • Smugly raises hand!

"PowerDVD ??? well that will be useful when you tell me where the DVD goes?"

"Otherwise: Open Office, VLC and a whole lot of other Free Imaging applications around (GIMP, Paint .Net, etc) will do the same thing."

            • As a big fanboy of freeware you wont get much of an argument from me re the cost effectiveness of freeware,
  • Catch of the Day claims:

    Option C: HP Mini 210-1016TU - $399

    with a 250GB (7200RPM) Hard Drive

The HP website seems to be unaware of this 7200rpm "upgrade" on the 250gb hard drive.

    http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/au/en/ho/WF04a/321957-321957-…

  • Again?

I'm guessing they did not sell these last time.

Still want to hold them to their word for the FSB! (5667Mhz FSB = 5.66 GHz)

Also note Option C is the only one with a 6-cell battery.
