Do I Need a Networked Receiver?

I've got a set of 5 B&W high end speakers, and need a receiver to go with them (my original is being used in the home theatre room).
Should I go for a networked receiver? I use Google Play music.

Or is it better to get a more basic model and use a Chromecast audio to stream? Other option is to use the new amp in the home theatre room and move the old Yamaha into the B&W room. Would love to get a good deal on a receiver in the Boxing Day sales.

Budget around $500, so it this possible?

Thanks!

  • chromecast audio to stream. use your old amp. go with that is a test before splashing on on more expensive stuff.

  • B&W high end speakers

Do you mean the diamond series? Or the entry level speakers fron B&W?

  • XT series (purchased in 2008)
