Japanese Curry Sauce Mix $3.19- $3.99 @ Thai Kee IGA (Haymarket NSW)

150

Hey guys; long time lurker, first time poster here.
Found a pretty good deal for Japanese curry lovers out there at Thai Kee IGA Haymarket:

  • Golden Curry 100g $3.19 (about 5 servings)
  • Golden Curry 240g $3.99 (about 10 servings)
  • S&B Curry 200g $3.95 (about 10 servings)

Usually these products don't go on sale from my experience and are usually between $6-$7. Pretty big discount for a product like this I reckon. If I do have recommendations, I'd go for S&B curry. There's Normal, Medium Hot, and Hot for the spiciness level for both curry brands.
Hope people are excited as me about this!

LOL! Well it is an Asian grocer in chinatown :P

  • +3

You can always find them for about $4 at tongli supermarkets… which is pretty much the regular price.

    • Sorry where is Tongli? Only been in Sydney for 3 months so still learning.

      • +2

There's one in haymarket kinda near UTS library, but they have lots of locations around sydney!

        • Thank you so much! I'll give it a visit during my free days!!! :D

      • +1

They have branches in Hurstville, Liverpool and Parramatta.

        • Thank you! Luckily I have relatives from Parra so I will inform them about it if they don't know the place yet:D

        • @SapporoRamen: Parra Tonli is next to Coles in Westfield

  • Hope it's in Brisbane. I've never seen that price here.

    • I know. That's why I grabbed it instantly! I live in Indooroopilly and I know the Asian grocers there sell it for $6 or $7. If I buy the big pack, it's too much even if I'm saving money in the long run.

  • When is this pricing ending?

    • I did not see anything related to that unfortunately, so I am assuming while stocks last? XP
If someone can update this information, please do! I'll definitely update my post accordingly.

does anyone know any decent Japanese curry sauces without MSG?

    • +6

      What's wrong with MSG?

  • -7

I always wondered, this made up with a bunch of chicken fingers or nuggets on some jasmine rice. Would it be good? Say a bit like an average food court "ONE CHICKREN CULLY!!!"

You are the most racist insensitive (profanity) ever

      • +1

Sorry mate I don't think I meant it like that. It's just when I used to buy it from hainchi some years ago they lady would scream one chicken curry!!! through to the kitchen. It really added to the experience. I shouldn't have posted it like that, now I read it I understand it was inappropriate to make that comment.
