    from Amazon
    https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-Type-C-128GB-SDCZ450-12…

As many others here have pointed out, the major flaw of this item is that it gets REALLY HOT.
I nearly burnt myself when trying to remove the drive from my macbook after transferring about 1 GB of file.

Very slow tranfer and drive got too hot to touch. Returned it.

it took a LONG time to finally get this to ship to me. it fits my MacBook, but there are 2 main reasons I think I just wasted the money… 1. it's gets sooooooooo hot on the metal part outside when it's connected to the computer. it makes me very nervous …. 2. the reason i purchased this is i wanna use SanDisk SecreAccess on this flash drive to make sure my stuff are all safe if i lost it. BUT, can't use it! I downloaded the software, I setup the password, but I cannot put anything in! i can't build a new folder, i can't add new files, no way to do it!! all the icons there are not "solid color", means i can't do anything!!! I think i may return it~~

Thanks for the review. I'll give it a miss. But considering you're stuck with it. Have you tried using something like veracrypt if you can't get SanDisk secreacesss to work?

ask the person in amazon, not @thelastnoob lol. he just pasted the review here, literally says from amazon.

    • From memory this only happens with macs, could you buy a windows pc?

Would love a type-c flash drive, but I think I'll wait for the high end/fast ones to be made first, preferably with SSD controllers..

Can't find usb C to A converter anywhere so can't use it between pc and mpb

    • Interesting there is no such converter the other way.
I have a macbook pro (the new late 2016 version with 2 x USB-c ports, was thinking to buy this USB stick then thought how will I move data around when I saw your post!)

CY 3.1 Type C Female to USB 3.0 A Male Data Adapter for Tablet / Mobile Phone

        • Nice find! however add this onto of the USB price and i'm thinking it may be better to get a traditional one (and use the USB to USB converter on the mac)

        • Thanks, but I'm going to buy a dual-interface drive

  • Done! Will go well with my GPD Win Hand held PC.. :)

Thought it was a top down view of a Mini Cooper 🤔

Why does nobody ever quote the write speed on these bloody things? it's always the limiting factor.

Link comes as $55 for me - is there a coupon code I've overlooked ?

    • No must have been a limited deal.
