good value on the 23" IPS LCD monitor
    thank you, very tempt

    • yeah very good price.. no reviews on it though. the monitor is thin as!

    • Yeah, but 23 inches? Why such an odd size?

  • Been using a Chuwi Hi10 Pro 2-in-1 Win 10 Tablet 4GB/64GB with Keyboard Dock from here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/275442
It's a good build, everything runs smoothly, battery is big but only last ~4hours (?) on Win10, not sure about on Android. An android pad without a key board attached is great and light. with a keyboard is heavier than a Zenbook but might add on battery time a bit.
much better than Asus Eeebook IMO, I wacked in a 128GB MicroSD EVO as extended storage. many different ports also handy.

I bought one from the recent AliExpress major sale in november, my battery doesn't even last an hour…

  • How does the Eeebook stack up to the Dell Inspiron here?: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/286576

    • Dell one is more powerful especially cpu also 4 times bigger hard disk size.

    The $199 netbook is back.

Though cheap, the processors are already outdated and have been replaced by Apollo Lake. I would be looking for the new gen ones for better performance and for hardware decoding for VP9 and HEVC (meaning better battery life when you're streaming video from Youtube and/or watching your pirated HEVC stuff).

Looking at ASUS's web page the newest addition to their budget line up is a 14" E403NA with either a dual core or quad core SOC, up to 32 /64 / 128GB of EMMC memory and USB type C gen-1 port.

Yeah but for $199 this is amazing. Dad uses it for work - email, word, light web browsing, and thinks its amazing.

The 32gb size is running into some issues as we use old pop3 emails which are growing in size.

  • Thank you. Bought 2 x Netbook for my twins BYOD. Have been waiting for a good deal. Managed to use THANKS20 It was the only code that worked.

  • Is it possible to upgrade the Asus Eeebook with a larger SSD?

    • Unfortunately, no. They are soldered on. If you are only after storage, that can be achieved using SD / USB. Keep in mind these are very low power/performance units. the 32gb is enough for Windows and a few very basic apps. You couldn't install Office or Photoshop or anything on there, but if you could using them would be a rather frustrating experience anyway. The online alternatives are always there. I expect those are most likely the intended option for these very low cost netbooks.

      • It comes with 1 mth trial of MS Office. Your comment is worrisome because we precisely need it for basic word processing BYOD for for school work. No games allowed.

      • 32GB isn't really enough for windows. When I tried to update I found that the update required more space to available on my 32GB drive. To do one of the major updates required a clean reinstall.

BTW, I have been running large apps off an SD card, but I find that half the time windows closes apps running off the SD card on when resuming from suspend. Not sure if this machine would suffer from that problem.

  • Can anyone recommend me a decent laptop? Budget is around 500-600… it's for my gf and being a PC gamer, I know nothing about the dam things!! Would really like something with at least a 13" screen or 15" 1080p. But that's about it really

  • What's the difference between this and the e200ha?

  • Laptop is back in stock :)
