        • The apple app is far better, but still. It does what it advertises and it's all in house. Does Hungry Jacks/Macca's have an app that works?

Also I believe that similar to the self order tablets at Maccas KFC will start rolling out those displays with a similar version of the app running.

      • Not saying the app is crap but seeing as you seem to be responsive to comments - how can I order a 'fiery' Zinger through the app? I wanted to get the Double Combo deal but couldn't see how to order 'fiery'. Is it just the chilli sauce option or?

        • Add Sriracha sauce.
Also Supercharged sauce if it isn't on it already.

        • @Matslurpee:

So does that mean 'fiery' sauce is sriracha and supercharged combined?

        • +1

          @hetzjagd: Firey Sauce is Sriacha.

      • +1

The App is leagues ahead of the other fast food joints, my only issue has been with KFC stores messing up my burger orders half the time.

        • Blame our really crap order screen formatting. It's running software and formatting from 2004 when it was rolled out. Also the screens dont even run windows yet, they run a version of DOS. Have a look at any kfc kitchen screen, all you would see is coloured characters like ASCII art as it can't do images.

        • @oscinator1988: I guess that's different for the KFC Xpress screens? I've seen plenty of Windows errors on them.

        • @Clear:
Yeah the Order Ready Screen's are pretty much run the register software and use Windows 7 or XP.

    • Isn't it $16 aka $15.95……. So basically paying $3 per large chips.

      • You also get an additional 6 nuggets and on the app you can choose what sides you want from drinnks to dinner rolls.

        • Oh missed that bit…. Yeah prob better value in the end if you want all that!

      • I strongly recommend if you have the App and you're going to get more then 2 sides to not choose large chips. This is because you can get regular chips for $1 at the app and roughly 2 regular = 1 large.

So you can effectively get 1 large for $2 instead.

        • 24 pack nuggets

With KFC mobile app, now there is an offer "nuggets party pack" for $15.95 including 30 nuggets and 2 Large chips and 4 sauces.

    • I love the nuggets party pack. Just enough for the wife, myself and mr 4yo on those times i cbf cooking

  • +3

Wow I'm actually surprised at how many people actually like the chips at KFC.
Maybe my local KFC is just terrible at making them

    • +2

IME they're fine when they're fresh, but in the time it takes to get out of the carpark they turn to shit.

If I eat more than half a dozen when we get the food home, it feels like I've eaten a house brick.

      • +1

wow, i know that exact same feeling, RE: house brick.

    • When they're fresh, they're great. When they're getting long in the tooth, they're downright terrible. I agree, lately I've been getting more average than not. Have to start asking for fresh. I had some the other day that made me feel sick for the rest of the day and night.

Maccas chips, at least, are way more consistent in my experience, but not as good at their peak.

      • Yeh i have overdone myself with maccas but their fries make it worth it.

    • +1

KFC chips must be dipped in their gravy for that Nirvana experience.

      • is it worth buying the gravy just for this as i normally dont get gravy with my meal.
i do enjoy go mental over the super charged sauce, so that will always help my polish off any bad tasting KFC chips.

    • +3

KFC are the kings of inconsistancy. Sometimes the chips are great, sometimes average, sometimes they'll make you swear 'never again'. Same can be size about the zingers etc

      • bahaha this comment takes the cake.
but i have to say i have the best luck with zinger burgers, i absolutely love them and when they brought out the supercharged zinger i lost my marbles.

        • You know the supercharged zinger has always been on the menu, just ask to remove mayo and add supercharge on a zinger burger.

        • @oscinator1988:
          doesnt it cost extra?
they dont mind charging extra for anything.
surprised they dont charge extra for the wet wipes.

        • @Hirolol:

Nope Extra Sauce/Lettuce on bugers is free.

      • Agree with this. Tried the chips tonight and they were very ordinary.

    • Crack them out of the box asap, they end up steaming themselves.

  • +4

    I loathe you

    • +4

You emit a foul and unpleasant odour.

  • pls no

  • +1

These are the best nuggets in the fast food business

  • Thanks OP. I know what I'll be having for lunch on Tuesday.

    Stating Tuesday/Monday

  • ****, another sore throat week yet again…

  • but I'm hungry now, I hate you kfc

  • +1

Maccas recent China made dipping sauces are terrible, great time for a better alternative with KFC for both the nuggets & sauces.

  • I have no regrets.

  • -2

Inghams chicken breast nuggets for 5 or 6 bucks. There were 18 in the 400g pack.
Cooking time is basically one or two youtube video's worth.
I already have sauce ready at home, and don't have to deal with teenagers.

    • Congratulations.

    • these comments are cancerous.

Yes I'm sure that Inghams chicken nuggets taste the same as KFC.

I am also sure that the sauces you got tastes the same too.

Furthermore, I am sure that you understand that buying the nuggets from KFC is already cooked for you and ready to ask, where as those frozen one you have takes a while.

Not everyone has as much time as you.

      • @cheapisgood -

I'll go into the kfc drive-through, or lineup for the 9pcs for 9.95 deal, but the nuggets, while good, don't seem to be worth it. Each to their own. :)

Usually, fast food vs home cooked food might be at a value ratio of 1 fast food meal to 3-4 homecooked meals, with homecooked usually requiring significantly more labour. Nuggets on the other hand, are at about a 1:2 cost ratio, and have significantly lower labour costs when prepared at home.

But you are right, they aren't as tasty as KFC nuggets. With regards to sauce, bbq, sweet chilli, tomato - I have all these at home. There's nothing special about the kfc sauce packets from my recollection?

  • Remember guys if you have a xpress app store and you want sides as well. Get the Nugget Pack instead, 6 more nuggets at the same price

  • Canning Highway WA had no knowledge of this deal today.

  • So is this deal valid today at any KFC in NSW? Has anyone tried yet?

    • +1

      yep, eating now

  • Does the 2 sides of $5.95 actually work anywhere? I tried it at my store and no one had heard of it, the deal that is linked has been expired for 8 months+

    • Hmmm, interesting, it might be just at QLD/WA stores.

      • It might just be QLD/WA where it's not valid? If so may want to clarify that

      • I see you changed it, I'm from QLD where my store didn't do it.

    • i went to town hall in sydney and they actually had advertising in front of the registers for the two sides for $5.95 and in small writing underneath it said it was only valid with the $10 nugget deal. funny part was they had no signage for the nugget deal anywhere

      • For some reason KFC dont like advertising deals like 24 nuggets for $10 or $5 lunch in store.

  • I tried the 2 sides for $5.95 (in a QLD store) and was told you can only get it with a family meal (which matches that link at the top) - you can't get it with just the 24 nuggets.

    • You are allowed to get it with 24 nuggets for $10

      • I even had the girl at the counter check with the manager and was definitely told "no it is only with a family meal". Maybe different stores are more pedantic about it.

        • +1

It's meant to be every store…

  • Melb Uni KFC.
    24nuggs
    2sides.
    $15.95.

    Sooo full…
    **burp

  • Just tried to get the two large sides with the nuggets at KFC Logan. They refused because it's not a family meal pack thing

  • My only question is which part of the chicken does the nugget come from?

    • The spare parts

  • What's better Macca's nuggets or KFCs?

    • I prefer KFC, they just seem larger in my area, plus the Supercharged sauce.

Yes stores should be the same, but they are tiny at my local Maccas.

Even things are different at KFC, depends on the store. One of my local KFC stores has larger buns for the tower stacker than the one down the road. Don't ask me why.

When you find a good store, be it KFC or Maccas, stick to it ;)

Plus you can't go wrong with the Survey Free Chips & Drink at KFC

  • How do i get the 30 nugget deal on the app? My local stores don't have the xpress order option.

    • You can't use the App Specials at stores that don't support the App.

Both my local stores 10mins from Melbourne CBD don't have the App option :(

  • Do any KFC stores serve this before 10am?

Macca's doesn't do it until 10:30am, but I prefer Supercharged sauce and KFC tastes better.

It's not for breakfast, but there is NFL Pro Bowl and Super Bowl coming up and need to stock up on food before the game starts.

    • Breakfast stores would.

      • Tried that an failed

  • Don't forget to use past recepits survey for free drink and chips…

As bad as my health tells me… it feels quite cheeky 24nuggets, chips and drink for $10

Note I notice they don't state the spend over $20 and get free 2 large sides anymore

    • No. Last time I ordered >$20, a couple of weeks ago, they kept it to the regular size side, same as a >$4.95 spend

      • It's meant to still be large side, tell them it's large, then ask for a manager.

  • all i can say is 'shutup & take my money!' :D love that ad…

    • I don't get it, why doesnt the boss eat as well? Instead he sadly shuns it

      • i was talking bout the other ad for the nuggets with the old lady & her boyfriends having a pool party :D

  • Does anyone know if this deal has actually expired? I saw an ad online for the deal today.
Maccas has unfortunately ended yesterday :/

    • Deal is still on, I'm not sure what happeend with ozbargin, I'll see if I can get it unexpired

    • Yeah deal is still alive. Just got it in Sydney today. Not sure why it's marked as expired

  • I just received an email saying that the 24 nuggets for $10 deal is ending 'soon'.

Anyone know when this actually finishes? I'm guessing some time this week - sad-face

    • +1

      Today.

  • Just ordered 24 nuggets and 2 large sides in echuca for dinner. I feel the fat accumulating in my body already

  • The deal is still available when ordering via the app!
