Most of these attractions used to have free entry on Australia Day. We used to have a great day out with kids visiting the Powerhouse, Australian Museum and Maritime Museum but sadly of these now only the Maritime Museum is still free on Australia Day.

    • I think they may changed the funding structure, so the museums need to earn their money from other source, mainly from adult admission or kids events. Now Australian Museum charges almost everything even you pay annual membership.

      • More people more tax less funding. Only increased benefits are for the politicians travel and retirement.
Where are the free cans of soft drinks and BBQ sausage sizzles we used to have on Australia Day?

    • If you are referring to the Maritime Museum permanent galleries, they are always free anyway.

How do we get into the Zoo for $1 on Australia Day? It's not my birthday that day.

I would like to know the same.

it's just some suggestions on where you can go without paying so much, 'cos nowadays it can be expansive for a family to visit these attractions.
If you want something to do on Australia Day, go to City of Sydney what's on website, it provides good ideas where you are go on weekends.

So it's not actually a $1 entry tomorrow? Can you please take that off the description, as it's misleading.

      • I understand but it's misleading and I told the family and now we can't go to the zoo :p

        • You still can, but not for $1 grin

Neg for putting the Zoo on there when it's not actually $1 for Australia Day. Got my hopes up for nothing.

    • The original post was specifically about Australia Day activities

The level of entitlement is strong with this one

  • Seems like this concert has no link to access the tickets:
