Media Player to Replace WDTV

So the time has come for me to replace the WDTV that's in the bedroom I think. I've been getting into the whole Plex thing lately and damn it does look better! Using an XB1 for that in the living room, but bedroom still has the WDTV and I think it's time to move it on.

So, I need a media player with support for Plex & Netflix (HD). Also need a physical remote (so please don't mention Chromecast). That's really it right now. Don't need 4K support, don't know if I should 'future-proof' by getting 1 that supports 4K, but I think the media player will die before I need the 4K support lol

So, would the Xiaomi Mi 3S TV Box be a good option? Or is there something else?

If only we could properly get a Roku here in Aus I think it would be a good option. Telstra TV Box needs a lil hacking to run Plex (can be done though).

Thoughts…?!

    I use a raspberry pi with the rasplex image. It supports CEC if your TV can send the remote signals over a hdmi cable. But Netflix… I don't know.

    Plenty of Android boxes on eBay. I had a 4gb RAM model, and it was great!

    They run Android and have a Play Store. That way you can install the Netflix and Plex applications.

    Should, in theory, work seamlessly!

    Get a box that has google cast as well as android APK support. Install Kodi.

    Yeah Android TV box could be the way to go by the sounds. You can get remotes for them on eBay.

    The Roku media player app on the Telstra TV supports a Plex server out of the box.

    Seems like a fairly simple operation to load Plex on to the Telstra TV.

    Have a Minix x8 does the job and more might pay a bit but worth it in the end the newer version Minix u1 just purchased for a friend for $160 on eBay together with a a2 lite controller
    And the amount of stuff you can do with kodi I'm sure you won't even see the Plex and Netflix side of things :)

    Also depending on box you get maybe look into Mobdro and Showbox

    I have a Xiaomi Mi Box 3 and its great. The Android TV layout is better than most Android tv boxes out there, as most of them just have a tablet layout which doesn't work as well without a touch screen. Current deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/285468

    Bought a Roku 3 direct from Amazon.Arrived in 5 days and works great with plex
