Kitchen Warehouse - Chasseur La Cuisson 6 x 300ml Mini Cocotte Sky Blue $19.95 Delivered

1260
FREESHIP

Spotted this Chasseur mini cocotte set in the sale section for less than $20 from browsing the site because of the free shipping deal. They have a ridiculous RRP of over $100 but when on sale, prices hover around the $45 mark, so less than $20 now is a bargain. Only the blue ones are at this price - the other colours are still $69.95.

These hold 300ml each and are oven safe to 250 degrees, microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. They are stoneware, "double coated inside and out with non-reactive enamel, the surfaces are easy to de-glaze and clean". I can think of using them for making individual servings of things like onion soup (with grilled cheese and toast on top), baked eggs for breakfast, individual pot pies, creme brulee, souffles etc. You can also use them to store dips and salsas. They would be handy for serving multiple people at dinner parties, and make a nice gift for home cooks too. Check out the customer reviews.

Note that though the brand is French, this particular product is made in China. For $3.33 each I'm not going to complain…

  • got one! thanks

  • Cheers OP! Great find.

  • Are these suitable for induction?

    • They are not to be used on stove tops, so no. Err, sorry, I thought I read that somewhere, now I can see it says "go from the stovetop/oven straight to the dining table!". Not sure about induction.

Edit: Yet elsewhere it says not for cooktop. I wouldn't risk it then.

      • +3

I don't see any mention of stovetops. Being stoneware, i.e. not metal, induction won't work.

        • Ah the stovetop bit was in the description for the red ones

Chasseur brings you this Mini Cocotte set of 6 in a vivid Inferno red. Made from highly durable stoneware, these cocottes hold 300 ml each and measure 10 x 6 cm. They are oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe, so you can go from the stovetop to the table to the freezer and back again in no time!

        • @moocher: Indeed it does. Odd that the description is different for each colour.

      • Ok now I'm confused. The description for the individual blue ones say:

With a 300ml capacity and double coated inside and out with non-reactive enamel, the surfaces are easy to de-glaze and clean. Safe for use in the dishwasher, oven, freezer, microwave and refrigerator, the mini cocotte is covered by a 12 month warranty however it is not suitable for cooktop use

Haha. Maybe safest not to use them on cooktops then. To be honest, they're quite small for that anyway at 10cm diameter, but the localised heating may cause issues if they aren't designed for it. And to the original question, induction wouldn't work anyway.

        • @grizzle: Yup I agree. Thanks for the info about induction :)

    • Nothing is. :( Other than the thin target ones.

  • Thank you!

Funny optical illusion they've created by just copy-pasting the same picture six times for the group shot.

    • +2

The ones in the back look bigger to me.

      • I'll take the last, looks the biggest, you can have the smaller ones :)

    • +1

I think that just for 1, not 6.

    • Only singles..

      • +2

as above, the 6 for $19.95 was a great find considering they were selling singles for $14.95 + postage.

  • Dammit I've been looking for a deal on these things, just learnt how to make creme brulee! Fingers crossed they come back in stock or the other colours go on sale. (Unlikely, I know…)

Its on eBay site but weird, they are charging shipping $9.95 even if you choose click n collect
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Chasseur-La-Cuisson-Mini-Coco…

    • It is "Click & Collect at Woolworths" not "Click & Collect". They ship it to Woolworths and you will collect it from there.

    • expired too

    • also sold out, looks to have been a bit slow to update, or a heap of people just purchased in the last 3 mins.

dang sold out so quick… can anyone spare me 1 of the 6? i just need 1..

  • Great find

    Got a set

  • +2

Scored a set just now, even though they are showing as out of stock.

I have an account with KW, and am a regular customer - but it might be possible for anyone to do the same.

Even though they are shown as out of stock, if you go down the page and click on "Check Store Stock" you can see that all the WA stores have stock - it's only the warehouse that has sold out.

On the advice of a guy from the Cannington store I called their customer service number and asked them them to transfer a set from that store back to their WA warehouse.

They will then ship the set from there to Brissy - with the free shipping. So the total price was $19.95.

    • I tried both online and phone call. They refused to do it as it's hot deal. :(

  • +1

Unfortunately we have limited stock left and as such are unable to transfer from the stores to the warehouse. Customers in WA are welcome to shop in-store if they would like to purchase.

  • Apologies for misleading anyone.

I obviously phoned the right people at the right time!

In response to Lucie, this course of action was suggested by staff, and was actioned over the phone immediately!

  • My set had some pieces broken when it arrived… have to bring it back today and hope for a replacement. Anyone else have this?

    • Oh no :( I am still waiting for my parcel.

    • Yep I've got one broken handle from a lid.

      • Aaargh that's annoying. What did customer service have to say?

        • Haven't had a chance yet. Maybe this is the reason they're going so cheap… maybe the package (pallets) were dropped in shipment.

        • +1

I ended up taking mine to the new Melbourne store that just opened, they swapped it for my no problem.
Customer service said to do that or supply them with images to organise a replacement.

        • @Kookabanus: Glad it's sorted :)

    • Just received my order, I had two sets, both were in-tact but one box was torn - I'll use that one for myself and the other as a gift. The packaging had 'fragile' taped over it.

    • +1

Mine arrived in perfect condition. Thanks OP.

      • Good to know, thanks.

  • Gosh, people seem to have theirs delivered quickly, I ordered immediately after the deal was posted, according to tracking mine is still in WA with estimated delivery next Wednesday.

  • +1

Thanks. OP. Got mine in store. There were still a few boxes left at the Melville store.

  • +1

Thanks again OP. My partner loved them and would never go out and buy something like this normally. :)
