  • I remember I used to be able to use PayPal and pay by credit card to avoid the fee. Not sure if they patched that loop.

can select AUD on the site, cop their exchange rate, then pay with paypal to avoid fees.
for flights originating overseas I usually use departing country currency and 28degrees card.

    • still works

  • Too many restrictions

The 20% is of the fare component only, not of taxes and surcharges. Works out to only about 10% for PER-DPS flights…

And then wait for ages to get the refund :)

  • They jack up prices on weekends anyway.

  • I posted this as I believed it may have been of benefit to some. They would have to be the least favorable airline, more so within Malaysia. Malays now tend to go with Firefly or Malindo who include luggage and a meal. Pending the flight duration, it may just be a snack and a drink. More favorable is that both these fly from Subang- the old KL International Airport, ~1/3 the distance than KLIA/2. Airasia once served me very well BUT on this current trip to have paid CC fee of AUD $10.50 Danang-KL, and a recent search indicating PER-DPS $11.50 each way they are nothing but penny pinching due to debt. How can they avoid falling into line as per RBA/ACCC guidelines on CC fees for carriers?

    • You can pay with Poli. I don't care much for the meal, and anyway you can buy that separately, but adding checked in luggage brings it closer to a full service airline.
