This is definitely a deal if someone can find the cheapest country VPN ~$57 in india

EDIT: appears to be about $42 in the russian store, anyone know how origin region locking works?

I too would like to know. Don't know if this helps: http://answers.ea.com/t5/Origin/Are-Origin-Keys-Region-Locke…

Not use if this is up to date still but it claims you can buy a russian version that cannot change languages and an international version where you can.

Okay so I got it to work, paid $41.11 on the russian origin store. Steps:

      1. Login with your origin account

      2. Active VPN I used Hola and Russia

      3. Page should still be EN language, navigate to the gamebundle it should be 1833 PY6 (russian rubles)

      4. Checkout with paypal, the last step after you click confirm in paypal will not load, but if you go back to your origin account they should be in your library.

The russian language thing may be an issue haha, but when I log in to the AU store it appears like a normal copy and links me to the AU version where it says it is already in your library

      • +3

people please do not use hola. or at least disable it after using immediately

use opera's browser with vpn or a trial expressvpn account

Thanks for the advice just made me check up on the exit node issue. I always only use it for a few minutes at a time once every few months though, so I'm okay with the risk

        • +1

          @coolhand:

Me too. It's wise to know about the risks, but it's also wise to take advantage of the product for things like that for short periods of time IMO.

Thanks for the confirmation you were able to get it for ~$42, looking into it now myself.

Please let us know if there's any further issues from getting a Russian copy :)

        • @coolhand: you need to actually disable it in your chrome extention settings dont forget

        • +1

@c0balt: it looks the the game will only install with polish or russian menus if you buy from the russian store, auido can be changed to russian but not the menus

      • +1

Okay so this method will only let you install Russian and Polish language copies, but its easy to request a refund.

  • I wanted both these games - any reason why I shouldn't pull the trigger on this dealio?

    • No reason not to. It's a bloody good deal.

    • Because TF2 multiplayer sux?

Seriously, I loved TF1, it was just fun and I did enjoy the TF2 campaign but the MP is just horrible. I did notice a 3gb patch the other day though, I wonder if they made it playable?

      • Not sure what you are talking about, but the TF2 MP is phenomenal.
Takes what made the first one great and adds to it.

Maybe explain why you think it "sux" so people can make up their own minds. Just saying that doesnt help anyone.

        • All the movement feels slow, you die REALLY quickly, the titans are under armed and die really quickly. The game GREATLY increases the advantage for higher level players as opposed to the first game. You have to church so much to get any upgrades, titans are not as customisable. As someone else said, it's like TF2 was built by someone who totally hated TF1. I've even gone back to playing TF1 for comparison and it is till WAY more fun. I would say that if you are a team fortress relentless runny-jumpy player then you'd probably like this game.

Even the maps are hard to get a handle on.

In short it plays NOTHING like the first game, if they had kept the game 'dynamics' from the first one and made the upgrade path a bit less tedious like the first one then maybe it would have turned out OK.

This guy sums it up even better (language warning)

So, did the latest patch fix anything?
Might have to jump back in and see.

BF1 got old for me fast, I've been a big fan of the series since 1942 but this feels lacking and is full of balance issues.

      • Yeah same here, been playing BF since 1942 but gave up after BF3, even OF kind of sucks but the graphics are nice.

  • hmmm interesting

  • Is Titanfall 2 still active in AU?

As in is there any point to purchase for MP?

    • I just bought Titanfall 2 the other day, and fired up multiplayer straight away. It was pretty easy to get into a game. The mix tape search also meant i found different game modes too. Mainly Attrition, but others as well.

Definitely get this deal cheaper overseas with a VPN. I bought via the Singapore store, and only paid $27.35 AUD for Titanfall 2 (after conversion from SGD), not the $35.99 in the Aussie store. Paid with Paypal, easy!
