Western Digital 2TB Element Portable $99 Pickup or $8.66 Postage to VIC (Save $30) @ Budget PC (Officeworks Price Beat $94.05)

120

Was looking for a 2tb hard drive for my Xbox, found this at an online store, haven't bought from them before. Not sure when the deal expires.

Went to Officeworks and with the price beat got it for $94.05, copy of the receipt in case someone needs it;

Product code is different on Officeworks site but under Product Specs the part number is the same.

This is the cheapest I've seen at the moment.

    I believe WD 2.5" HDD also known as the portable ones, are USB soldered on to the PCB of the HDD. Therefore even if you remove it from the case, you cannot plug it directly into SATA.

    • i'd be double checking that its a plain sata drive inside… the WD portable I have definitely isnt

  • Officeworks will only price match in VIC for that price because in other states they will include shipping costs (which are ~$17).

      So when it breaks you lose 3TB instead of 2TB.

        That's why you always have a backup.

  • Just checked with Officework Werribee, they said never heard about "budgetpc" and will only price match with big company like JB, The Good Guy and HN.

    Now a day, looking for price match is hard and have any excuse and terms…

      Price match is easy. Tell officeworks to call budgetpc and verify. If they try to be smart, ask for manager and they will do it provided it's a brick and mortar store selling local stock. The T&C are clear. It's the new bees who don't know anything and give answers like you got.

    • So long as it's the same product and the warranty is the same (e.g. same manufactures warranty) I tend to do it. include postage as well in the price. Things like Iphones for instance on shady sites I won't do. People always think the Hong Kong parallel imports are the same but they're not. Can't just walk into an Apple store for warranty as you would with Australian stock.
