  • Really good price for that 1070. Should probably put that in the title instead.

    • Looks like they listened

  • Unitek USB3 4-port hub powered

Hmm could do with a decent hub

    • Bought it :) lol cheers Scrim

I can highly recommend the TPLINK Powerline Kit. It's probably one of the best that you can buy from MSY — bulky, and expensive, but worth the coin if you want one that's fast.

    • I want to buy the AV2000.

    • I agree, using this to hard wire my steam link and works perfectly.

      • I am wondering how is the speed difference between 1200 and 2000?

        • +11

          About 800

          @No Child Support:

lol …. I mean real life ….. copy files, etc.

        • 1200mbps vs 2000mbps (bits/sec) aka 150MB/s vs 250MB/s (bytes/sec) speed varies depending on your home wiring.
That's assuming if you're transferring data there's no bottleneck in between like a switch/router.

          @enceladus94:

In this review AV2000 can copy file at around 12.5MB/s I think may be 1200 can do 8MB/s?

My AV500 can do around 4MB/s now.

The reason I want to upgrade is because after I upgraded to NBN my AV500 became the bottleneck.

@superforever: If that's the case that's awfully misleading. My 1000mbps network switch is ~110MB/s file copy between PC's. What's the point of having powerline adapters with such high rates if they can't push it?

        • @enceladus94:

If that's the case that's awfully misleading. My 1000mbps network switch is ~110MB/s

That is how they advertised EoP adapter, in real life it is only like a 100mbps network switch.

Just like WiFi AC1xxx don't expect it can do that speed like 1000mbps network switch.

        • @superforever: My WiFi on 5Ghz performs pretty close to the speed it claims, dependant on my wireless device of course.

        • @enceladus94: this will give you a good idea of what to expect performance wise

          https://www.avforums.com/review/tp-link-av1200-powerline-sta…

        • Yes its very misleading, but a stable 80-100mbit per second is better than 2.4ghz wifi.

  • Come oonnnnn, R7000.

Much of a difference between the LG and Asus Monitor?

    • yes, I'm waiting on some feedback on the monitors too. Did a bit of digging online too.

      • Well, one is TN & Asus is IPS. So better for graphics & office work.

        • Seems to have a terrible wobbly unstable stand. Nothing compared to the build quality of the dell. Good as a wall mount but otherwise, everyone complains about the stand. The resolution can result in pixelation for text when up close. Looks good on pictures though.

        • LG is also IPS. I got LG from last deal $189. stand quality is not great but if you don't move monitor much, it's not an issue. But you need to know there's a black boundary(about 2cm) around monitor screen itself. you can look find it if you look carefully on JB hi website. https://www.jbhifi.com.au/computers-tablets/monitors/lg/lg-2…

        • @solpiry:Sorry I checked again my monitor, black boundary on monitor is about 0.5cm and around 1.5cm from edge.

Looks like the biggest diff is lack of sound on the LG.
      Asus has inbuilt speakers

Other than that, pretty minor stuff.

LG has no DVI (both have HDMI and Dsub), speakers or VESA mount
      For me, not deal breakers.
      I'd rather keep my $30

The gaming chairs. I have the tgc15. I searched endlessly for reviews as i needed a new chair and this was a lot of money to drop on a chair. given that I am in it a lot of the day for study and gaming I thought it would be a worthy investment.

Here's the rundown. the chairs are very well made, and extremely comfortable. completely upright maintains you a good posture. Arm rests are firm foam like material which are a huge step up from the hard plastic unadjustable ones on an office chairs.

The only faults are, not really breathable so use AIRCON! If you have a wide ass and or thicc legs this chair not be for you as you can't man spread. The rises on the sides of the base prevent you from spreading your legs too much. However for me, this is extremely comfy and helps with posture and positioning during gaming.

The chair does go back like they display. scary at first but surprisingly relaxing for when i get bored of my assignments or need to deal with a tragic overwatch loss.

As for durability, 3 months in no faults, cracks or wear on the chair. With that I can safely say that I recommend this line of chairs :)

  • Any antivirus deals?

  • New one (GPU) coming out soon-ish?
So 1080 & 1070 should be dropping in price?

    • NVIDIA slashed the 1080 price by $100 USD and 1070 by $30. shops in AU have yet to really adjust their prices.

      • I'm trying to wait for better price drops on the 1070… Currently only have onboard video due to a dead graphics card :(

  • Can't find the LG27 in NSW

  • Also redeem your 1070 gtx for free game before 30th June https://www.asus.com/event/VGA/for-honor-or-ghost-recon-wild…

  • Does anyone know how long these prices will generally last for? I'm looking to buy the 1070 but have a credit card coming in the mail I'd like to use for price protection…
