As I know torches are quite popular on this site, I thought I would 'share' today's experience re the purchase of a 'Gladiator Torch' online. I was (naively) suckered in by an add that stated that the torch was currently knocked down from $80 to $20, accompanied by (literally) brilliant pictures. I committed to the $20 purchase, and dutifully declined all of the suggested 'add-ons'/subscription fees etc.; but subsequently found that my CC was billed about $90.
Luckily for me ANZ was totally awesome in their handling of the issue/disputing the transaction I must say, and they made me feel a bit less of a mug than I was initially feeling, but yeah… if you see an add for a 'Gladiator torch', that is supposedly knocked down from $80 to $20, AVOID IT! It is a scam.
