Lagavulin 8yo Scotch Whisky 700ml $79.95 (Click and Collect) @ Dan Murphy's

100

For Lagavulin lovers… don't know if this a real bargain for you, $10 down the normal price and down to $72 using CR and GC. For a long time I always passed this for the beloved 16yo, but already bought one this time. There are some stock around Kew Victoria. FYI, DM also has nice price Glen Grant 10yo at $57.

$89.99 at Nicks and at oakbarrel and winesellersdirect.

next cheapest is $84.99 at vintage cellars

  • How's this stack up next to the 16 taste wise?

      Half as good.

    • I found it much softer in taste compared to the 16. The 12 year old is still my favourite Lagavulin.

      • due to the cost i pick the 12yo from Nicks maybe only once or twice a year :)

        • funny enough, I get mine from Nicks when they have it on the 'Hot Items' - don't care much for their packaging but they do some good prices.

You could always price match the 16yo at Dan Murphys

Or get 2 bottles delivered from Selfridges for $213.

  • This was only released late last yr as a limited edition. I quite liked it.
    Thanks op good deal

better off waiting for the 16 yo, costs pretty much the same when it is on special.

    tastes better

  • As others say above, and as an owner of all 8 lagavulin offerings…

The 16 is sophisticated, more mellow

The 12 is full of character, robust

This 8 is a little harsh, and very young, but still interesting, especially for people that have tried the others.

It does not compete with the 16 though, if the budget will stretch to the 16 it is a more enjoyable offering if you have to pick only one.
